UFO base on earth: Location revealed

A secret UFO base being used by visiting extraterrestrials has been discovered by world governments and is being monitored and studied by scientists on a regular basis.

The mysterious archipelago of Tierra del Fuego at the southernmost tip of South America has always been an area of mystery and paranormal occurrences. This inhospitable, sub-polar region of immense natural beauty has never supported a large human population.

Prior to their decimation by white disease, small populations of Yaghan Indians inhabited the region. These extremely hardy people swam naked in freezing waters to collect shellfish for food. Ancient Yaghan legends tell of ‘Sky-people’ who visited them occasionally and taught them magic.

Rumours have long circulated amongst the current Chilean and Argentinean populations of a deep hole in the area that reaches to the centre of the earth.

This publication has received information from government sources suggesting that indeed a secret UFO base has been discovered by researchers on Tierra del Fuego’s remote Hoste Island: a territory of Chile. The UFO base is believed to exist beneath an icy plateau that lies between some of the island’s many mountain peaks. While the exact purpose of the base is not yet known, government scientists have monitored and recorded large luminous objects entering and exiting the plateau. Analysis of these objects has shown them to be consistent with other UFOs seen and picked up by radar: such as the enormous UFO seen above Alaska by Japan Airlines pilots in 1986.

At least four giant UFOs have been filmed disappearing beneath this plateau in the last decade. The UFOs were all large glowing yellow spheres. Some sceptical scientists have claimed that they might not be UFOs but rather other natural phenomenon such as ball lighting or even gaseous orbs created by weather conditions.

Government geologists have also tested the area and discovered that hollow space exists under a thick cover of ice and rock in the exact spot where UFOs have been filmed coming and going. Government scientists have decided not to drill into the ice due to serious safety concerns.

Some scientists believe that actual extraterrestrials might actually have recreated a habitable environment for themselves beneath the ice and rock. Unusually high levels of radiation have also been recorded in the area.

Arnoldo Rivera is one non-scientist who has seen unusual objects descend to the plateau. The Buenos Aires native and ex-pilot was on a hiking expedition in the area when he saw something he is unlikely to forget.

'I was hiking in the foothills on Hoste island when I saw this enormous glowing object descend into the mountains.' Arnold described the object as 'brilliant blue' rather than yellow as described above. 'I don't know if it was an alien spaceship but it was not of this earth'.

'As a pilot I never saw anything strange in the sky but heard many stories. Now I believe some of them' concluded Arnoldo.

What is the purpose of this UFO base? It is known that earth lies near some form of galactic highway or trajectory and that an exit off this 'highway' exists in Brazil. Is this base nothing more mysterious that the galactic equivalent of a roadside motel where weary alien travellers can rest before moving on?

Breaking news: China’s real Area 51 UFO zone revealed

For years many westerners, especially UFO researchers, have wondered where China’s equivalent of the Area-51 in the US is without being able to pinpoint a location. Now thanks to an All News Web exclusive investigation we are able to solve this mystery with a high degree of certainty.

Recently this article along with photos appeared in the Govt owned Chinese regional newspaper, Sichuan Daily. The most curious article, titled 'A large number of Air Force SU-30/SU-27 fighters assemble in China's Area 51', refers to an area in the Sichuan province and includes some photos. The article mentiones that a large scale gathering and training exercise involving China’s hi-tech SU-27 jet-fighters is taking place there at the current time. Strangely, the article does not specify the exact location of this event.

Even stranger is the article's lengthy explanation of the original Area 51’s alien and UFO connection all while referring to this area as China's equivalent.

Thanks to some sharp-eyed local readers, the area has been now been identified as within the Chengdu Military Zone near the city of Chengdu which is the capital of the south-western province of Sichuan. The specific field lies between the Chengdu Military Area Air Force Command headquarters and the Bai Shiyi (White City) Military Airport.

Does this represent a leak by the Chinese authorities designed to reveal that they too possess UFO technology?

Many will be asking why China is now engaging in these intense military exercises. Others will be asking if there is a connection to this area and the alleged UFO bases high in the Himalayas to its west or if activities here have anything to do with the multitude of mass UFO sightings occurring throughout China. Russia: Amazing UFO filmed near Moscow, video

A UFO was allegedly seen by a number of witnesses hovering above a shopping mall in a satellite town of Moscow in Russia early last month. One lucky witness managed to film the craft with astonishing results. The footage below shows the very clear outline of a disc shaped craft that suddenly vanishes towards the end of the clip.

The sighting took place in the town of Kashira, on the outskirts of Russia's capital city Moscow. The UFO was spotted above the well-known Kisharsky Shopping Mall, leading some local UFO researchers to speculate that it may have been tapping into the Mall's substantial energy system.

UFO sightings and footage have never been more frequent in Russia and many local ufologists believe that aliens will soon be openly revealing their presence on our planet.

Who were the Nephilim?

The Nephilim were an antediluvian race (pre-flood) race which are referred to in the Bible as giants. They were reportedly the children born from the "daughters of men'', and the "Sons of God''. It is most important to note that they are mentioned almost simultaneous to God's statement that He would destroy the earth by flood, and it seems from this association that their affect upon mankind was one of the primary justifications that brought the destruction.

The Sons of God

Nobody knows what the ''Sons of God'' were, but the most obvious interpretation is that the Nephilim were a hybrid race between two distinct but sexually compatible beings. Many believe the ''Sons of God'' were fallen angels who corrupted mankind. The ''Sons of God''' are clearly distinguished from the daughters of men. This suggests the ''Sons of God'' were either not born on earth or simply righteous men as opposed to earthly. We can only speculate, but as angels are not biological organisms, they are not likely to be reproductively compatible with humans.

Another logical interpretation for the ''Sons of God'' is they were other created men. It is largely assumed that Adam and Eve were the only humans created in the beginning, but the Bible does not describe every person on earth, nor even everyone that was important to God. Only key individuals or situations are included within the text, and we can not say with certainty that God only created one pair of humans.

The phrase "sons of God" used in Genesis 6 is "bene elohim", which used apparently only three other times in Scripture and in each of the other cases it is found in the book of Job which is accepted as one of the most ancient books written. Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7.

And Also Afterward

In Genesis 6:4 it is said the Nephilim were on the Earth in those days - and also afterward. This seems to clearly imply that the Nephilim were also on the Earth after the flood of Noah. Although the Nephilim are only mentioned one other time in scripture after Genesis 6, during a false report brought back to Moses by the explorers of Canaan, this reference would suggest that the Israelites were familiar with the Nephilim.

Wiltshire crop circle identified as symbolic code for first ten places of pi

Wroughton Mathematicians are perplexed after a highly complex crop circle appeared in a Wiltshire field - depicting a fundamental mathematical symbol.

The circle is, apparently, a coded image representing a complex mathematical number - the first ten digits of pi - and even astrophysicists admit they find it "mind-boggling".

The circular pattern was created in a barley field near Barbury Castle, an Iron Age hill fort, earlier this month.

Measuring around 46m (150ft) in diameter, it has had crop circle enthusiasts and experts stumped.

The symbol was identified eventually by Mike Reed, a retired astrophysicist who contacted Lucy Pringle, a crop circle photographer and expert, with an explanation.

Maths codes and geometric patterns have long been an important factor in crop circle formations - one of the most famous formations ever created showed the image of a complex set of fractals known as The Julia Set, in a field near Stonehenge, 12 years ago.

Lucy Pringle, who researches the effects of electromagnetic fields on living systems and crop formations and has the largest database of crop circles in the world said of the phenomenon: "This is an astounding development - it is a seminal event."

Apollo 14 moonwalker claims Aliens exist

FORMER NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr Edgar Mitchell - a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission - has stunningly claimed aliens exist.
And he says extra-terrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions - but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades.

Dr Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview that sources at the space agency who had had contact with aliens described the beings as `little people who look strange to us.`

He said supposedly real-life ET`s were similar to the traditional image of a small frame, large eyes and head.

Chillingly, he claimed our technology is "not nearly as sophisticated" as theirs and "had they been hostile", he warned "we would be been gone by now".

Dr Mitchell, along with with Apollo 14 commander Alan Shepard, holds the record for the longest ever moon walk, at nine hours and 17 minutes following their 1971 mission.

"I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we`ve been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real," Dr Mitchell said.

"It`s been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it`s leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it.

"I`ve been in military and intelligence circles, who know that beneath the surface of what has been public knowledge, yes - we have been visited. Reading the papers recently, it`s been happening quite a bit."

Dr Mitchell, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering and a Doctor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics claimed Roswell was real and similar alien visits continue to be investigated.

He told the astonished Kerrang! radio host Nick Margerrison: "This is really starting to open up. I think we`re headed for real disclosure and some serious organisations are moving in that direction."

Mr Margerrison said: "I thought I`d stumbled on some sort of astronaut humour but he was absolutely serious that aliens are definitely out there and there`s no debating it."

Officials from NASA, however, were quick to play the comments down.

In a statement, a spokesman said: "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe.

`Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue.`

Mufon Launches Study Of UFO Abduction Experience

The woman describes floating through her bedroom wall, as if levitating into a beam of blue light. She recollects only portions of her experience later while under hypnosis: being brought onto a small ship by short gray beings. One of the intruders appears to direct the team of abductors. Once led onto the craft, a taller being leads an examination where intricate procedures are performed. Nearby, she senses a female being who uses gestures to comfort her. She sees no other humans present.

To many, that story may be a familiar one in the realm of the human-extraterrestrial encounter. But delving into the nuances and minutiae across cases is where some believe real discoveries may be made. One large research project in the U.S. today attempts to get at the particulars of the alien abduction phenomenon and to unravel, if possible, any alien agendas.

The Abduction Transcription Project, sponsored by the Mutual UFO Network, or MUFON, is perhaps the most comprehensive and ambitious research study to date in the field of alien abductions. Dan Wright, MUFON member and board member, launched the project in 1992 with the goal to uncover commonalities in alien abductions.

When people scattered across the country refer to a short being in terms of the same physical characteristics, garment and a certain musty smell, one must pay attention, says Wright, project director of the Abduction Transcription Project. Or if a tall being is wearing a black wetsuit-type garment, is he wearing a belt? If so, does the belt have a black box on it? Such levels of detail are required to begin to grasp more fully and even, perhaps, begin to make sense of the phenomenon.

Descriptions of an entity may include height, skin tone, garment type and garment color. That entity's behavior may be described as caring, manipulative, threatening or humorous. Entity Behavior and Entity Communication, for example, are among the 53 general categories Wright tracks. The project uses verbatim transcripts from the abductee's or subject's actual descriptions, which are fed into Wright's database to glean over 2,000 words and phrases used as descriptors. These descriptors are then classified into the general categories or what Wright calls root factors. Topics here include references to the subject's description of entity appearance, a ship's outward appearance, interior layout, paranormal elements and post-event effects.

The Abduction Transcription Project is a private study which relies on transcripts of audiocassette-recorded sessions from some 19 of the U.S.'s leading abduction researchers, many of whom are psychology professionals, licensed or registered hypnotherapists, doctors, scientists and engineers. The project's contributors have included: Ann Druffel, Richard Haines, Richard Hall, David Jacobs and the late Karla Turner. Many contributors are testing their own abduction hypotheses. By not publicizing certain hypotheses, researchers continue to test their ideas separately and attempt to make sense of the seemingly random or anomalous abduction data.

At present, the Abduction Transcription database consists of 254 cases, incorporating over 700 sessions between researchers and subjects, primarily in dialogue from regressive hypnosis sessions, and some interviews with the subject in a fully conscious state. While each researcher may use different methods and procedures, Wright says the typical case may stretch beyond 100 pages of data. Some researchers, such as David Jacobs, may just do one interview session with a subject, while others, such as Richard Haines, often ask the same question three different ways to determine the validity of an answer.

Regressive hypnosis is not an exact science. However, because of the nature of abductions where much of the experience may not be easily or consciously recalled, it remains one of the best tools available. Cognitive interviewing is another recognized technique where the subject is asked questions. As Wright admits, there is a level of contamination associated with any research project; however, the project helps to overcome that by using a multitude of skilled, independent sources.

Wright is in the unique position to draw conclusions or make detailed observations from the data, uncovering both commonalities and anomalies or what he calls odd factors. One example is a finding that the great majority of abductees don't report seeing any railings within the spaceship or tour area. But Wright found several cases where rail guards were reported and within these cases research has found commonalities such as the types of beings found on these ships.

From his analysis of the case data, Wright is in a position to make fascinating observations about alleged alien entities, their behavior and how they work. One thing is clear from the data: there appear to be a number of different types or groups of entities with varying abilities and significant evolutional differences. For example, some aliens may simply place their hand on the subject's forehead to induce loss of consciousness or memory, while others administer a liquid syrup as anesthetic.

Interestingly, Wright says it is clear most entity groups use short grays for performing the actual abduction. An away team of short white, gray or blue beings abduct the subject from the home or auto, but usually have no other observed function, says Wright. Additional entities aboard the ship likewise seem to have more narrowly defined duties. Taller beings are often contained within the ship and nearly always appear to hold the most authority. One taller being usually doesn't leave the ship. He is often referred to as a doctor; but he's clearly in charge, says Wright. Assistants to the doctor may be short or tall, but usually tend to be taller. Less appears to be known about the taller beings who stay on the ship, and certainly the media and abduction stories tend to focus on the short grays.

BEAM ME UP, SCOTTY

Depending on the type of being, technological advancements and perceived missions may vary widely. In the majority of cases, abductions are made via a beam of light used for levitation, as a way to get the subject into the ship, whether from the home or by being led outside to walk into a beam. Beams are often white or bluish white. Odd factors among light beams appear in several cases where subjects describe dust flecks or particles within the beam. The particles tell me that this is probably a completely separate mechanism for levitation, says Wright. Or, in a smaller number of cases, the subject physically walks onto the ship without observing light beams.

Wright has found few predictable patterns or broad commonalities across the database of abductions. However, in addition to the generalizations made here, Wright has been able to make some other findings. While a large number of abductions involve small craft with a single round room, a significant number involve larger ships with numerous rooms, each for a particular purpose and separated by hallways. The majority of cases are solo abductions, where the subject sees no other humans or human-like beings. Interactions with or sighting of other humans and humanoids by the subject have occurred in one-third of the cases. Distinct commonalities exist across numerous cases such as details of a hybrid's appearance or humanoid's uniform, or an immense cave to which the subject is led. Paranormal activity is somewhat common to abduction events, primarily in auditory form, such as unexplained footsteps or crashing noises heard in the abductee's home.

Odd factors include subjects looking down and seeing four long fingers, but being unable to find a mirror to look at themselves. There are also instances where subjects are seemingly lured by animals, such as a deer or owl, which are soon recognized as alien. The notion of an animal is what is first plugged into their mind, says Wright.

Mental telepathy or thought transference is often described. Information is conveyed to the subject in an instant from the entity. The aliens also have some mysterious ways at getting subjects to forget all or parts of an abduction experience, apparently achieved by manipulating the subject's concept of time.

In many cases, the beings use telepathy both for general communication and to communicate to the subject the need to forget the experience, rather than any spoken post-hypnotic suggestion. In a few cases, the being places his hand or fingers on the subject's forehead, seemingly to erase memory of the event.

Most subjects are unable to recall the entire event, but the great majority remember some of the onboard experience. Some don't recall getting there or coming back; they just remember a few minutes on the examining table, says Wright.

ALIEN AGENDAS

Of the proverbial alien agenda', Wright stresses that groups of beings, each with varying levels of abilities, skill sets and technologies, often communicate disparate missions to the subject.

Contrary to belief that all abductees are traumatized, probed or otherwise harassed, Wright says reproduction is only one of several themes which dominate the cases, and a case may have more than one theme. The major underlying themes are:

Reproduction, sperm and ova are removed, with the most common procedure the removal of ova. In some cases, embryo implants are made and/or aborted from female subjects.
Connection to the aliens or kinship, the subject reaches the conclusion of an innate connection with alien captors which transcends this lifetime as a human. The abductee feels like a fish out of water in their own family, or otherwise disconnected from humanity.
A mission, beings communicate to abductees that information is being planted in their minds which they'll later use, whether technical concepts, notions of some great contribution to society, human-alien liaisons, or other high-minded purposes.
Destruction of the earth, the subject is shown images of future events, often involving geophysical catastrophe. This save the planet theme has nearly replaced that of nuclear destruction from earlier cases. Some are led to believe they will be safe or otherwise removed from any earth disasters.
Government's involvement, the subject sees military or para-military personnel working alongside entities or is otherwise led to believe that the government is involved in working with alien entities.

Some 19 cases involve underground caves and in a few of these the subject has observed military working alongside entities, often sitting at computer equipment. Separately, only two cases involve underground facilities where the room appears manmade and not a cave. Men In Black', despite the popularity of the mysterious government agent image, are a thing of the past, says Wright. They don't appear in his database. However, straight military intelligence or other type of agents do appear, often to intimidate the subject as guys in fatigues, says Wright.

Wright stresses that while the ongoing study uses quantitative analysis techniques, at this point the data isn't statistically reliable or projectable because of the low sample numbers. However, patterns and odd factors found will over time, it is hoped, help to unravel the giant mystery of the abduction phenomenon. To that end, Wright says, The ongoing objective of the project is to provide quality data to participants and other UFO researchers with a legitimate interest.

ULTIMATE ENDS

As to any grand purpose for abductions, Wright says, I believe we are a progeny of one or more of these groups of beings, that we are in effect their genetic cousins. That is why they travel great distances of space and time to get here.

Wright and many others, such as the late Carl Sagan, have argued that abductions beg the question of why aliens would care to come to our star system toward the edge of this galaxy to interact with humans, who, by all accounts, are not at their level of intelligence or evolution? One salient answer comes back to Wright's suggested rationale: we are connected at a fundamental level with these beings going back to our evolutional beginnings.

Wright plans to continue the project indefinitely. Of the denial of the abduction phenomenon by many today, he says, over time, the great numbers getting plugged into my computer are going to wash away all the criticism.

One of the most inexplicable incidents occurred in the 60s. A Russian mail plane disappeared from radar as a UFO approached it. Days later, the plane was found in a circular clearing in a forest with no runway for take-off or landing. During these years Dr. J. Allen Hynek headed Operation Blue Book and reported the well-known Socorro, New Mexico UFO landing as "one that most clearly suggests a пnuts-and-bolts' physical craft."

During the 70s, distinct UFO landing traces were found on Kansas farmland. An Alabama Chief of Police snapped photos of a silver suited "alien" who, he claimed, could run 35 miles per hour. In Iran, an F-4 jet's weapons system went dead when its missile sights locked on a UFO. Also appearing in this time period were the Coltrane photos, considered by many to be the best in-broad-daylight ever taken. This decade also developed the criteria for a valid study of UFO phenomena.

Also investigated are sightings by pilots and famous people. Once, while in a plane, Ronald Reagan saw a UFO and ordered his pilot to follow it for 300 miles. Gerald Ford, as a congressman, opened an official congressional UFO investigation.

Dr. Richard F. Haines, Ph.D., a NASA research scientist, interviewed commercial airline pilots and collected voice recordings made while in pursuit of UFOs. Obtained through the Freedom of Information Act by Greene, the tapes include three very compelling exchanges between pilots and air controllers. In one, a UFO accelerated from 120 knots to 990 knots in less than 3 seconds. Command-Sergeant Major Dean explains why he believes our government has been actively garnering UFO information since WW II. There are lists of dozens of reported UFO crash sites dating back to 1896 with photos of materials reportedly left behind by UFOs like a mysterious metal sludge and a white fiber called "angel's hair."

The NASA Photo Gallery contains photos taken by astronauts during the Mercury and Apollo missions. Comparison can be made between shots of the same type UFO by Apollo 13 and by the Russian Phobos II. Astronaut Donald Slayton gives an account of chasing a UFO that left him bewildered by its speed. One Apollo 13 photo shows three different UFOs in one shot. Another photo reveals a blue UFO hovering above one of our moon buggies while it was parked on the lunar surface. Photos taken by Gemini XI in 1966 match UFOs in photos take by Skylab III in 1973. Included is the actual transmission from a 1965 UFO report during a space mission from James Lovell and Frank Borman. There is also a remarkable video from the STS-48 space shuttle showing an object cruising past the shuttle, then making an abrupt turn and speeding away in a fraction of a second.

The evidence of a government cover-up is hard to ignore. When astronauts Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the moon in 1969, their public voice transmission was suddenly silenced by NASA for an hour. However, HAM radio enthusiasts reported overhearing the conversation with Mission Control. The astronauts claimed there were two UFOs parked on the rim of a nearby crater. Later, it is reported, Armstrong said they were being "warned off" the moon. The CIA covered up the incident. This encounter was photographed by Aldrin and confirmed by Marice Chatelain, NASA's Chief of Communications for all Apollo missions. The 1964 NASA moon photos in this section show what appear to be strange looking "machines" parked in craters.

The Phobos I and Phobos II missions provided mysteries still unsolved today. Phobos I disappeared before it reached Mars and shortly after Phobos II landed, its transmission was lost. The last photo Phobos II sent back from Mars was that of a saucer-like shadow looming over it.

The mysterious Area 51 is also covered, and the images provided are probably the most revealing ever published. Many were taken by Greene himself. Top Secret operations here have included, according to Bob Lazar (an Area 51 ex-employee), the care of captured aliens, back engineering of UFO flight mechanisms and UFO test rides.

Other secret bases-all of them owned by Lockheed, Northrop or McDonnell Douglas-are also profiled. When a lapse in security occurred at one of the facilities, Greene snapped a photo of a 30-foot disc on the ground. A three-story building constructed on tracks (used to hide the object) happened to be rolled away when Greene flew over with a ready camera.

Secret documents detail a vast number of high-energy government cover-ups. Much of the information and photos in this section were obtained through the Freedom of Information Act. Many of the forty- to fifty-year-old Top Secret memos and letters are heavily blacked out by government censors and are still considered Top Secret today. Some examples: The Twining Memo determines UFOs are real and metallic. The Top Secret MJ-12 Report shows a letter to President Eisenhower about the Roswell crash and a letter to President Truman about four alien bodies recovered from the crash.

The final incident under this topic makes a strong case that the government is indeed concealing information. The Citizens Against UFO Secrecy sued the National Security Agency for the facts behind UFOs. The National Security Agency gave the presiding judge a 21-page Top Secret document. The judge read the document and immediately dismissed the case without hearing another word. The producer obtained an exclusive video interview with General Thomas DuBose, Chief of Staff with US 8th Air Force and involved in the Roswell "clean-up." The General admits the weather balloon story was a cover-up and reveals the Air Force hid the actual UFO crash materials, classifying them Above Top Secret. This comes from the man who personally sent the crash debris to Fort Worth.

Under this topic, Command Sergeant Major Robert Dean (ret.) reveals "what changed his life." While on duty, he reviewed a government Cosmic Secret UFO Report. This report, Dean explains, substantiates the Roswell crash, alien autopsies and the military's possession of crashed discs. It also claims we are being monitored by four alien groups.

Also explored are crop circles and their possible UFO connection. Colin Andrews, the foremost authority on the subject, has found the circles are made by advanced technology and high intelligence. Crop circles have already yielded five new geometric theorems. Over the years, the circles have become complex pictograms, far too elaborate to be created by drunken farmers or prankster students. Dr. W.C. Levengood, a research scientist, concluded crop circles are created by rapid energy changes which cause cell pit enlargement, swollen and exploded growth nodes and metabolic changes in cell respiration. We are left to wonder, if crop circles are not alien, what are they? Messages in an alien language? Mathematical geometric problems? Or intergalactic musical notes? So far, no one has solved their riddle...

One section of The UFO Anthology is devoted to "alien abductions". Narrated by Yvonne Smith, a certified hypno-therapist, the section probes the 60s Betty and Barney Hill case and their "medical examination" onboard a UFO. While most abductees, like the Hills, apparently lose only a couple of hours, one man, Travis Walton, lost five days. Walton's abduction was witnessed by six co-workers and while under hypnosis he recalled he too underwent a "medical examination" by aliens.

Although the producer points out known hoaxes, The UFO Anthology presents a convincing argument that something unusual has been happening in our skies and, whatever it is, our government may very well be hiding it.

IS ANTI-GRAVITY IN YOUR FUTURE

It's the simple things that defy explanation. The fundamentals of gravity, for instance, still stump modern physicists. With space and time, gravity defines our physical existence. Yet this ever-present phenomenon conceals its nature, somehow woven into the mystery of life. Gravity may be seen as the effect of the planet hurtling through space, pressing us down the same way taking off in a jet glues passengers to their seats. Albert Einstein theorized that gravity bends space, helping to define relativity. Some call it a magnetic force produced by the rotation of the globe. How about a wave structure supported by frequency vibrations from the quantum field? Isaac Newton's theory was easier to understand. Dropping his famous apple, he saw gravity as the attraction between bodies of matter. More recently, Professor John Searl, an English inventor, claims to have reversed that attraction. That's right! Searl claims to have conquered gravity.

John R.R. Searl was born into poverty in Berkshire County, England in 1932. His story has all the makings of a Spielberg movie, from his father's return from India with a shawl used to wrap baby John (out of which John fell causing him to have fits as a child) to his discovery of the Searl Effect Generator. Powered by the SEG, Searl's unmanned levity discs have risen in pink clouds of ionization, we are told, traveled at tremendous speeds and circled the Earth. What's more, Searl claims to have demonstrated his flying machines to scientists at Andrews Air Force Base and to an official in the Canadian government.

One of the discs, according to Professor Searl, flew from Mortimer, England to the Cornwall coast in three minutes, a distance of about one hundred miles. That's two thousand miles per hour, and he says the craft could have flown much, much faster. Brisbane, Australia to London, England, for instance, would take about thirty minutes, hardly enough time for a good nap. Among Searl's other claims: a disc in orbit around the earth for ten years, powering his house with free energy, and startling healing powers resulting from the SEG's ion discharge.

Suspending skepticism for the moment, Searl's childhood seems unlikely for a man who might revolutionize the way we live. After his father disappeared, he grew up in foster homes, his mother having been sent to jail for neglect. While his practical knowledge of electrical engineering is great, his formal education was meager. To fill in the gaps, Searl had recurrent dreams as a child that cryptically revealed his life's work, true to our Spielbergian screenplay. Along with these mysterious dreams, his practical training helped him to become an inventor. While he claims to have inadvertently built his first anti-gravity machine at fourteen, his formal career and training began with electrical and electronic wiring, including the wiring of England's Victor Bombers and the first fully transistorized computer for NATO's large naval guns in Norway, facts that lend to Searl's credibility. He built televisions and radios, too, worked as a mechanical engineer and in radio communications. Searl is also a pilot and has an honorary degree from Oxford University as a Professor of Mathematical Structures of Creation and Energy.

Like Einstein, Searl has tried to prove intuitional knowledge scientifically, which brings us to his childhood dreams. He is playing hopscotch on a set of squares. On square two, with a pebble resting in square three, little John is in the act of hopping onto square four, but his right leg is suspended in the air with his left on the ground. At that instant, the other children have vanished and a giant steamroller looms ominously above him. John has only a short time to save himself from being crushed. From the crucible of this mysterious dream, Searl deduced his Law of the Squares', a new physics, if you will, upon which his SEG is based. Furthermore, Professor Searl perceived an imminent need to perfect his invention before the onset of a catastrophe of global proportions, the hovering steamroller! a pole shift, Searl says.

Searl's life, while resplendent with tales of gravity-defying discs, has been fraught with calamity. His work and records were destroyed or sold for scrap while he was in jail for stealing electricity from his local power company. While there have been articles and photographs in newspapers and magazines dating back to the 1960s, and as the BBC (as of this writing) searches its archives for film footage, none of the flying discs remain intact. The discs were confiscated by the power company or sold for junk while Searl was incarcerated. To make matters worse, the signatures and comments of eyewitnesses to the discs flights were burned by his now estranged wife. Not one scrap of material evidence remains, except some old photographs. Isn't this the stuff movies are made of?

In all, Searl claims to have built forty discs, many of which disappeared into orbit. The disc itself, Searl explains, consists of three rings of spinning, magnetic rollers. The spinning magnets create a gravitational-type force that repels the gravity of the earth, the same way magnets of a like charge repel one another. Searl says the disc creates an inertia-free field with characteristics of a planet, which the laws of physics say is impossible. The disc's rotation does not accelerate, Searl says, rather, unbelievably, it moves instantly to a cruising speed. Gunner Sandberg, chief technician at the electrical department of Sussex University in England, reportedly had a hard time fathoming this concept. In June, Searl spoke at an alternative-energy convention in Denver. He made reference to Sandberg having witnessed a demonstration. Yet Sandberg told us that, in the early 1980s, he had seen nothing more than magnets oscillating for a few seconds. He was unable to verify Searl's claims, although this was years after Searl's hard evidence had been scrapped. Sandberg said that, although he had seen nothing extraordinary, he had reserved judgment. More resources were needed, he said, to prove or disprove Searl's claims.

Last June in Denver, Searl told his story. Lacking any hard evidence, his unpretentious manner is his most convincing attribute. He appears, one would have to say, guileless. His anecdotes regarding his flying discs and his description of the technology hardly sound fabricated. To the contrary, Searl seems sincere and genuine; yet some have complained of inconsistencies in his explanations. Searl appears to be a simple, honest man, gifted with an earnestness and a grasp of science that transcends his presentation! or he has a lot of us fooled. His grammar and speech are poor, his accent thick, Cockney-like. Searl is no glib or polished spokesman which, ironically, adds to his credibility.

While remaining prudently skeptical, given the nature of Searl's claims, let's take a closer look at what he has to say. In 1949 he had a lucky break, we are told, while working for the Midlands Electricity Board. A friend at the MEB gave him permission to use the Board's magnet-pressing equipment. Searl built small experimental generators at the time, not flying discs, which were supposed to produce power but not fly. He did so with the help of his seventy-year old landlady! that's right! and an elderly Welsh backer named George Hines. In 1952 he moved on to a fourteen-foot model. This SEG produced power at an unusually high potential, 10 to the fifth power volts! Overcharging the disc caused the temperature to drop to four Kelvin, approaching absolute zero. At that point, Searl says the laws of physics reversed and the disc lifted. There was crackling and the smell of ozone as the generator unexpectedly rose from the ground, broke a connection with a start-up generator, and levitated fifty feet in a pink glowing cloud resulting from ionization. Collecting energy from the rim of the craft and applying it to electromagnetic pick-ups made the disc speed up when it should have slowed down. The generator accelerated, to Searl's amazement, spinning at a tremendous clip. After causing local radios to flick on and off, the disc soared out of sight, most likely into orbit. Searl says he has since constructed many flying discs, some of which flew off uncontrollably until he and his team invented a control device. He claims to have built models as wide as forty feet, some with nylon hulls, some of fiberglass, several of which the BBC and English TV stations observed and filmed, although the BBC has not as yet been forthcoming with any footage. Both the Canadian and American governments witnessed demo flights, according to Searl, but rejected the possibility of inertia-free flight. The Americans at Andrews Air Force Base, Searl claims, said the G-forces in the craft would kill anyone on board.

The levity disc, though, Searl says, has been tested and found to be inertia-free in the cabin. As the structure lifts, all in its field becomes inertia free, a world of its own, violating accepted physical laws. That means a person flying inside would not feel the effects of the tremendous speed, in the same way we do not feel the speed of the earth as it hurtles through space. The SEG creates a high-density electrical field, negative at the rim and positive at the center, while a magnetic field surrounds the hull and extends beyond it. Perpetual motion (considered an impossibility) occurs when the craft exceeds a certain potential. At that point energy output is more or less limitless as the SEG gathers electrons from space surrounding it. As the threshold potential is achieved, the temperature around the craft drops severely, reminiscent of accounts stating that UFOs leave rings of ice on the ground. The disc becomes a superconductor, Searl says. The revolving magnetic field produces gravitational energy (an unknown) and the two likes, earth and levity disc, repel one another. He says the craft would be easy to control in space, homing in on gravity fields of different planets, and that in space the disc could approach the speed of light.

Anti-gravity, the speed of light, space travel? None of this is easy to believe. Spielberg would have a field day with the professor. Searl seems to be a modern hero, a simple yet brilliant man set against orthodoxy, a man with a singular vision who some consider a lunatic or charlatan. The script is all in place, the conflict, the setbacks, the wife who doesn't understand. So far, only the happy ending is missing. The hero/genius gets thrown into jail for doing what comes naturally, which is building flying saucers from technology gleaned from childhood dreams, seemingly ordained by the gods. His life's work is destroyed by the bad guys, bureaucrats or robber barons whose empires are threatened by Searl's free energy. We're all rooting for the professor, but his inventions are burned or sold for junk. This is the stuff movies are made of.

But that doesn't mean the story isn't true. Nor is Searl alone. He isn't the first to have claimed to conquer gravity or draw free power from an omnipresent force. The inventor Henry Moray is said to have fed a step-down transformer from an alternating current derived from germanium crystals resonating, presumably, in tune with the quantum field. That's science talk for: he drew power from the atmosphere! free energy. Moray transformed this field energy into electricity through harmonic amplification', drawing enough power to supply appliances with 500 kilowatts continuously. And Moray had witnesses. Not unlike Searl, Moray's laboratory and credibility were destroyed after he presented his findings to the United States Government. Nicola Tesla had a similar fate, in that his tower for the wireless transmission of electricity was sabotaged, his financing cut off and his career virtually ended when his technology threatened the established order. There are apocryphal stories of Tesla's other revolutionary experiments, death rays, intrigue. The list of inventors and their sad, or tall, stories (depending on your point of view) goes on. All, save Tesla, lack credible documentation. The claim of persecution from on high is always present, turning our screenplay into a formula instead of the story of a unique and persistent visionary. But let's not become too skeptical. Stories of human beings defying gravity (with no external energy source) have existed for some time, documentation included.

In 1936 the Illustrated London News published a photograph taken in southern India of a levitated yogi named Subbayah Pullavar. The photographer, P.T. Plunkett, concluded that the yogi remained horizontal in the air for about four minutes and that the man had no support whatsoever, except for resting one hand lightly on top of a stick. John Keel, a writer and traveler through India and Tibet in the 1950s, reported a similar event when a Tibetan lama levitated cross-legged before his eyes. This was after Keel had dismissed other miracle workers as expert magicians. If that's all too exotic and faraway for Westerners, in 1852 in Connecticut there was the case of nineteen-year-old Daniel Home who floated involuntarily from the ground in front of many witnesses. The incident was observed and recorded by F.L. Burr, editor of the Hartford Times. Burr reported that Home levitated to the ceiling in the house of Ward Cheney, a silk manufacturer. As strange as this sounds, Home learned to levitate voluntarily and did so over a period of forty years before hundreds of people including Emperor Napoleon III and Mark Twain. Heavy objects such as chairs and even a grand piano rose in his wake. What's more, Home received the endorsement of Sir William Crookes, President of the British Association for the Advancement of Science. Crookes described the anti-gravitational phenomena in the Quarterly Journal of Science with both certainty and an incredulity betrayed by his very eyes. There are many such accounts involving religious mystics, 230 cases attributed to Catholic saints alone. While patently different from Searl's claim of mechanized levitation, these accounts do serve to support the possibility of levitation without an external energy source. In that they frequently involve mysticism, many draw parallels between levitation and a school of thought arising in the New Physics, where mind and matter are believed to be of the same essence. Was Searl tapping the essence?

Since Searl's claims are often greeted with profound skepticism or even dismissed, Searl does not call his discs flying saucers'! understandable if he wants to gain acceptance. Photographs of Searl's levity discs', however, reveal that that is exactly what they are. For those who believe that extraterrestrial spacecraft exist (the U.S. Air Force has not denied that they exist, by the way, only that they cause a defense threat) there are fundamental similarities between Searl's SEG powered discs and accounts of UFOs. One similarity is that both are inertia-free discs. UFOs are often described as traveling very fast, then stopping, then accelerating instantly. Also, both, according to accounts, produce very low temperatures, disc-shaped ice patches having been found where UFOs have landed and taken off. Another similarity is that Searl's disc and the UFOs magnetize patches of earth, leaving circular rings on the ground. Yet one more similarity is the ionization cloud, the after-effect of a technology that, as far as we know, no government on earth employs.

Coming back to earth, Searl's account is fantastic, the implications staggering. If true, the SEG would change the way we live. Space travel would become routine, as would traveling around the globe quickly. Our dependence on oil for fuel would become obsolete, upsetting the world's financial power structure. Powers that be, the bad guys in our script, would have everything to lose and would almost certainly act to prevent the manufacture of such units or discredit the inventor. But Professor Searl has reportedly engaged companies in Japan, Germany and in the United States. Reportedly, the Germans have developed a prototype but are not willing to display the unit until production, distribution and marketing measures are in place. In the United States, Searl has people working on a small, non-flying demonstration model, but the date of that demonstration came and went. Nothing happened, no SEG. The project is complex and expensive, we are told. They need more time and money. According to John Thomas, Professor Searl's publisher and agent, even a small unit is intricate and costly. He promises a demonstration somewhere down the road, perhaps within a year. Meanwhile the BBC searches its files. Foreign concerns develop prototypes. We watch and wait, on the edge of our seats. Pass the popcorn.

MUSIC IN THE FIELDS OF CROP CIRCLES

For over twenty years the normally quaint and quiet English countryside has slowly been overrun by a phenomenon more akin to It Came From Outer Space than to cream tea. Fields long accustomed to entertaining wheat, barley, or canola are, with increasing frequency, playing host to magnificent pictograms in the form of crop circles: areas of flattened crop as large as 100,000 square feet where plants are bent an inch above soil level and gently laid down in geometrically-precise pictograms, with no visible signs of damage or human entry.

But what started as a local phenomenon in the environs of Stonehenge and Silbury Hill has since become a major British export: to date, some 8,000 crop circles have been reported worldwide.

If they had their way, certain television documentaries would have you believe that all crop circles have been nothing more than the work of two simple, elderly men armed with a plank of wood and a baseball cap fitted with a ludicrous wire attachment which, they claim, helped make mathematically correct circles and ruler-straight lines in total darkness.

But in such programs the meat on the bone of research is systematically stripped before it reaches the table. The public is left to be turned off as the whole phenomenon is explained through human agency alone. This is why there is so much disbelief, even hostility, toward crop circles in the public's mind. Yet despite persistent attempts, researchers, scientists and hoaxers have failed to replicate most phenomena associated with genuine crop circles: plants bent, not broken or damaged; radically altered chromosomes; massive depletion of the groundwater; soil element alterations; major discrepancies in background radiation and electromagnetic fields, dowsable and long-lasting energy patterns; and so on.

Most disturbing for hoax theory advocates has been the discovery, by Emeritus Professor of Astronomy Gerald Hawkins, of Euclidean geometry and diatonic ratios present in crop circles features requiring a understanding beyond basic math and yet to be found in both controlled man-made designs or in uncontrolled hoaxes.

So much, then, for two guys and a long two-by-four. But what, then, is causing several thousand square feet of crop to suddenly lay down in designs of immense complexity and hypnotic beauty?

THE GROUND COMPONENT

When the stems of affected plants are cut, a malty fragrance is detected, suggesting that they have been cooked from the inside. Yet the stalks remain unharmed. A second observation reveals that a noticeable amount of ground water in and around crop circles appears to have vanished (this is corroborated by the author's infrared photographic analysis). The soil within a formation is generally dry, even cracked, despite overnight rains. Exhaustive lab analysis into hundreds of crop circles from 1991 to 1995 by biophysicist Dr. W.C. Levengood reveals physical and biophysical changes in plants inside crop circles. Their nodes are literally blown open to form expulsion cavities, an effect unique to crop formations and reproduced in a lab setting through a very rapid rate of heating. Levengood also discovered alterations in the germination and development of seed embryos, alterations in plant stem node length and circumference (up to 200% in one case), and enlarged cell wall pit diameters in bract tissue actions consistent with the application of intense heat.

This leads to the speculation that the affected plants are microwaved for a very intense yet brief period. The groundwater is partly vaporized, partly sucked into the plant, thereby preventing the field from catching fire, while the stems are made supple enough to bend without cracking, enabling them to be easily manipulated into precise patterns. But this does not account for the geometric designs.

THE GEOMETRIC COMPONENT

Look through twenty years of aerial photos of these agriglyphs and it is hard to deny their melodic precision, their circular forms resplendent with abstract, yet harmonic waves of invisible energy. Hardly surprising, then, to discover crop circle designs flaunting the principles of sacred geometry, either visually or veiled within the construction blueprint, much in the same way ancient esoteric knowledge was hidden within the framework of religious fables or monuments.

In his visionary work, The Sophistication of Agriglyth Geometry, John Martineau was perhaps the first to visualize this coded information in the early phases of the phenomenon. My own dissections of aerial photographs also prove the same to be true of designs in recent years. Even what sometimes appear to be loose or random elements both within and beyond the perimeter of formations such as small unconnected circles or grapeshot,' and rectangular boxes are placed along an invisible matrix of pentagonal and hexagonal alignments based on proportional geometry and Golden Mean ratios.

In Science News (Feb. 1992), Prof. Hawkins went a step further by using the principles of Euclidean geometry to prove that four theorems could be derived from the relationships among the elements in crop circles. More significantly, he discovered a fifth theorem from which he could derive the other four. Despite an open challenge, tens of thousands of subscribers to both Science News and Mathematics Teacher were unable to create such a theorem, which Euclid himself had only hinted at twenty-three centuries earlier. It subsequently appeared as flattened barley at Litchfield, England, in 1995.

THE SOUND COMPONENT

Ancient Greeks once remarked that geometry is frozen music. To their Egyptian teachers, sacred geometry and music were inextricably linked since the laws of the former govern the mathematical intervals that make up the notes in the western music scale the diatonic ratios. Coincidentally, Hawkins' Euclidean theorems had also produced diatonic ratios. So for the first time, geometric theorems were linked with music and crop circles were proved to contain musical notes, which are themselves the by-product of the harmonic laws of sound frequency.

The fields themselves offered blatant clues pointing to a sound component. In 1996 a crop circle demonstrated the combination of two important figures, the 3, 4, 5 triangle and the Golden Mean, which gives us the diagram necessary to produce musical ratios (as exemplified in The Divine Proportion by H.E.Huntley).

Then an outstanding formation at Goodwood Clatford which had its plants bent six inches from the top gave the proverbial nod to sound. For here was a cymatic pattern in 5,000 square feet of barley, leading straight to a smoking gun.

In 1967, Swiss scientist Hans Jenny published the first of his painstaking studies of vibrational affects on physical media such as water, plaster, oil and sand cymatics. By transmitting sound in the shape of a monitored frequency through these elements, he was able to capture on film the exact geometric pattern that sound makes as its vibrations move through these substances. Changing the vibration altered the shape of the geometry captured in the receiving substance a low frequency produced a simple circle encompassed by a ring, whereas a higher frequency increased the number of concentric rings around a central circle. As the frequencies rose, so too did the complexity of shapes, to the point where tetrahedrons, mandalas, and Pythagorean forms were discernible. Jenny not only managed to solidify sound, he also enabled humanity to observe frozen music.

Jenny also provided a physical connection to the creation of crop circles, since many of the vibrational patterns found in his photos mimicked their designs. Some were blatant imitations, such as a circle surrounded by concentric rings from the 80s, the tetrahedron at Barbury Castle in 1991, the mandalas and spider's web of 1994, even the highly structured Pythagorean-based star fractals of 1997. Other photos demonstrated the construction geometry encoded within crop circles but only visible upon dissection of overhead photographs by compass or computer.

But there is yet another coincidence: the relationship between the rising complexity of Jenny's cymatic geometries in proportion to the rise of dispensed frequency matches the historical sequential development of the pictograms. Crop circles began appearing as simple circles in the '70s and developed in an exponential curve through the 80s and into today's complex pictograms, much in the same way Jenny's work shows the increase in design complexity relative to the rise in frequency applied.

This coincidence echoes the repeated claims by many channelers/mediums/sensitive people at the beginning phase of the phenomenon that the earth is undergoing a change in frequency a raising in the earth's vibratory rate, a sentiment also shared in the prophecies of native tribes around the world concerning earth changes of this period. Further corroboration comes from NASA, whose recent soundings of earth from space record a rise in the frequency hum' emitted by the planet.

In his extensive database, leading crop circle researcher Colin Andrews notes several accounts of a trilling sound heard by people prior to witnessing crop circles forming. The reports describe a total stillness in the air; the morning song of birds stops, proceeded by a trilling sound and the banging together of wheat heads despite an absence of wind. The crop then lies down in spiral fashion, the whole episode lasting no more than fifteen seconds.

This sound was eventually captured on magnetic tape and analyzed at NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab as mechanical in nature and beating at a frequency of 5.2kHz. The same sound had been previously heard by a BBC cameraman while recording an interview near a crop circle, shortly before crossing the formation's threshold, which proceeded to render two $50,000 TV cameras obsolete. Obviously, if sound is a main component in the creation of crop circles it can certainly be interacted with.

The formations' physical location may play a part in this. In Dowsing Crop Circles, two decades of collective research by noted dowsers Richard Andrews and Hamish Miller, among others, reveals that crop circles have been materializing over major ley lines the earth's magnetic energy grid or their tributaries. Miller had also observed, together with Paul Broadhurst in The Sun and the Serpent, how this energy congregates at stone circles and tumuli. Imagine his surprise to find crop circles energetically linked to these ancient sites and their magnetic grid.

In noted cases such as the cyclopean triple Julia Set fractal formation at Windmill Hill in 1996, crop circles appear over the node point where the male and female lines intersect and discharge dowsable patterns of energy. These invisible fingerprints, which can last up to a year after all visible signs of the formation have been tilled, were discovered by Miller to have coherent geometric structures Teutonic crosses, 9-, 10- and 12-pointed stars, the same geometric patterns which formed part of esoteric mathematical teaching in Egyptian, Buddhist, and Arabic cultures, and since popularized in the West by Pythagoras.

This relationship between geometry, math, and music is especially important in Buddhist mandalas, whose elaborate geometries are claimed to be the physical manifestation of chants which are then used for meditation. In Arabic culture these relationships have been meticulously preserved in ceramic tile design. In both cases, the geometry mirrors crop circle designs in either their outward appearance or in their respective construction skeleton which, in turn, bear a familiarity to Jenny's photographic evidence.

It's no coincidence that a large percentage of crop circles can be identified with and by ancient cultures. To this day their histories are honored through song and music, their healing rituals performed with sound or rhythm. In Secrets of the Soil, Peter Tomkins reveals how Hopi natives danced in a field during a severe drought, chanting specific notes. By harvest time the only area in the vicinity to yield a harvestable crop was the one exposed to their vibratory tones. A parallel situation exists in England, where farmers whose fields have played host to genuine crop circles report an increase in yield and healthier-looking, pest-resistant plants.

As Robert Lawlor once wrote in Sacred Geometry, Both our organs of perception and the phenomenal world we perceive seem to be best understood as systems of pure pattern, or as geometric structures of form and proportion. Therefore, when many ancient cultures chose to examine reality through the metaphors of geometry and music they were already very close to the position of our most contemporary science. The musical scale, constructed on the harmonics of sacred geometry, and now found within the framework of crop circles, represents the mathematical structure of the soul of the world because it embodies the essence of the universe modeled on it.

Could it be, by implication, that crop circles are the universal language?

In them we see the embodiment of musical and geometrical elements as they give rise to designs of perfect symmetry, proportion, and harmony. This may explain why people just aren't as aroused by man-made formations regardless of how coherent they look, especially from the air their ratios are off the mark and fail to activate a harmonic vibration within the viewer.

The same applies to a genuine crop circle: distort or remove just one element and the communication between viewer and design is short-circuited. It simply becomes a work of art without meaning. But show people a mere photo of the real thing and their eyes light up, they become emotional, lightheaded, ecstatic, benevolent, dizzy, even noxious. In stark contrast, a hoaxed crop circle provokes apathetic, even negative reactions.

Perhaps what the viewer recognizes is a basic language common to all nature but only retrievable by the subconscious. Our eyes may be attracted to the designs in golden wheat but the real message is reached at a deeper level, triggered by an underlying code based on sacred geometry the very same code upon which nature is created, and whose formulas were zealously guarded by ancient esoterics as the knowledge of the Godly.

What we are reading in the fields of England and now throughout the world could very well be the book of universal law.

Megalithic England

Among those who have argued in their writings that there once was a great and shining, albeit forgotten to history, fountainhead of civilization whose ghosts even now continue to haunt us, few have been more eloquent than John Michell.

The author of over a score of works on ancient mysteries, sacred geometry, UFOs, unexplained phenomena and the like, Michell is familiar to American readers primarily through his visionary classic The View Over Atlantis (originally published by Thames and Hudson in Great Britain in 1969 and a few years later in the U.S. by Ballantine). The Earth Spirit, Michell's profusely illustrated essays on the ways, shrines and mysteries of the subtle animating forces of the planet and their near universal celebration since the dawn of time was published in the U.S. in '89. A revised and rewritten version of his first book, re-titled The New View Over Atlantis, was published here in 1995.

Michell argues that across much of the earth are ancient earthworks and stone monuments built for an unknown purpose, and that their shared features suggest they might be part of a worldwide system which he believes served the elemental science of the archaic civilization which Plato called Atlantis. Michell suggests in this connection the most significant modern discovery is that of leys, a mysterious network of straight lines which link the ancient places of Britain and have their counterparts in China, Australia, South America and elsewhere.

In The New View Over Atlantis the Cambridge-educated scholar's vision of a high megalithic civilization with a mastery of principles far beyond present-day understanding is so thoroughly and beautifully worked out that it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to credit orthodox notions that the sources of our megalithic heritage were but Stone Age hunter-gatherer societies with little on their primitive minds but survival and procreation. In detailed descriptions of phenomena such as the precise terrestrial and celestial alignments of ancient monuments along long ley lines; advanced ancient sciences of number and sacred geometry; sophisticated pre-historic engineering and much more, Michell paints the picture of a vast and coherent worldwide order beyond anything imaginable today. We live within the ruins of an ancient structure, he wrote in the first edition of View, whose vast size has hitherto rendered it invisible. Emerging from current research is the awesome image of an ancient structure so great, its outlines have heretofore escaped understanding, awaiting patiently our ascent to a sufficient height where its masterful design, stretched out beneath us, could at last be appreciated.

Colin Wilson described The View Over Atlantis as one of the great seminal books of our generation, a book which will be argued about for generations to come.

Atlantis Rising shares that opinion and so we were delighted when Michell agreed (along with Colin Wilson) to participate in our tour of English Sacred sites this September. Michell's unique insights into the British heritage of megalithic sites promise to provide those on the trip with an unsurpassed glimpse into an enchanted world, which though, it has been argued, is long since dead, is yet giving promise of an immanent resurrection.

His most recent work Who Wrote Shakespeare is just out in the U.K. and immediate plans include a book on symbolic geometry, so Michell's schedule remains busy. Just back from a few days in Greece he was relaxing at his Nottinghill home in London when Atlantis Rising reached him.

Has he, we wondered, been keeping up with the new research by Graham Hancock, Robert Bauval and others into celestial alignments of the monument of Egypt's Giza plane with the constellation Orion and other stars. He has and hears an echo of evidence he has found in British sites in much older stone, where alignments with significant stars also indicate the route of the soul after death.

Everywhere in the ancient world you see this terrific obsession with death, reflected in the orientation of monuments, he observes. To him it seems plain that the ancients possessed a kind of science of immortality along the lines that Graham Hancock has suggested.

Unlike Colin Wilson who theorizes that the ancients possessed advanced psychic faculties but had no technology as we understand the term, Michell believes it is very clear that they did. He sees it in the elaborate work of siting and construction of monuments well before the pyramids, and he sees it in their highly developed sciences of number and geometry. It's truly just extraordinary so many numerical harmonies are put into basically very simple structures, he marvels, and how they designed others to concentrate on the long term. In this very beautiful pattern is implied the kind of philosophy that says we can construct here on earth the path to the heavens. He cites the frequent use of the number 12, as in the 12 tribes of Israel, and a connection with the 12 signs of the zodiac, hinting at an attempt to order life on earth according to the pattern of things in the heavens.

The question of technology becomes more pressing, but even harder to answer, when one considers how the giant stones of ancient sites were actually cut, tooled and moved. It is a mystery actually, he concedes, this incredible precision. And again in megalithic times, the extraordinary weights involved, raising blocks of 100 tons or more, transporting them and setting them up. Terrific labor ingenuity and, no doubt, principles that aren't recognized today.

Could such principles have included some kind of levitation? There are very persistent references from the classical writers to the power of sound, he assents, of the use of song and music and tone to make things lighter. Work songs where there's a rhythm got up. Where you can move things without a lot of effort.

Whatever lost secrets the ancients may have possessed, Michell believes that we can yet recover them and, in fact, will, when the time is right. Human ingenuity is such that we can do anything we want. If (the ancient knowledge) was actually needed then it would return again. There's no doubt about that, he insists. As to the suggestion that we may have been left hidden caches of records such as the legendary Hall of Records in Egypt, he thinks it very likely that such treasure troves exist but is not certain we will recognize them when we see them. Plato went on about a certain canon of law possessed by the ancient Egyptians by which numerical proportions and musical harmonies which dominate a society enable it to continue on the same level for literally thousands of years, he explains. Ancient civilization lasted far longer than we can conceive of today. So it seems to me that the whole society was based upon an understanding of the harmonies by which the universe is laid. And acting upon these by corresponding rituals, and that sort of thing, could hold the society together through crises. However, he concedes, being sufficiently developed to appreciate the wisdom of such laws may be another matter.

The possibility that we may have begun, at least in some quarters, to resonate in harmony with the ancient chords of wisdom, could open the door to a return of ancient wisdom though. In religious stories such as the Revelation of St. John, Michell sees the description of a New Jerusalem coming down ready-made through a parting of the heavens as the manifestation of an awakening and a wholesale change from the patterns of a previous age.

Such a revelation comes, he believes, from nature and it is invoked. When we need it we ask for it and it comes. Today when people are so uncertain, I think we are looking for a truth and understanding that is beyond this world of chaos, of secular theories, and all the scientific theories which follow one after the other but never establish anything, we're looking for the higher truth that is always there. When we ask for that, we'll get that.

In a chaotic world where dissonance and dissonant music apparently reign supreme, there seems little hope that such a force can be overcome, but Michell remains optimistic. It will overcome itself, he believes. Certainly it has always been recognized that music is the most powerful of the arts. As Plato said, forms of government eventually follow the forms of music. That's why the ancients were very careful in controlling music, no cacophony was allowed. The same music was heard at festivals every year and people were held under a kind of enchantment where the mind was held under one influence. Music is by far the most powerful means for therapy. Certainly the music, and the other art forms too, we see now threatens chaos in society. It's a vessel that not only reflects what happens but actually determines what will happen. As to what will come about, I have no idea. I think more and more it's in the hands of God and that there is now working out an alchemical process and that changes come about through nature, through the natural process of cause and effect. Things are chaotic and we have a reaction and a yearning for a source of order, there's quest for that and an invocation of that, and then there follows a revelation.

Can the hoped-for change come without cataclysm? Every man-made thing, every created thing comes to an end sooner or later, he says. It's as inevitable as tomorrow's sunrise that all these fruits shall have lain down. That which is artificial does not last long. Look at the fall of Communism. It seemed so assured, so completely in control, and it vanished practically overnght. destroyed by its own inherent contradictions. People just couldn't stand it any more. It's so like the description of the fall of Babylon (in St. John's Revelation). One day it's going with all its wealth, parading its splendor, and the next day it's as if it never had been. There is no doubt that all the institutions we know will collapse. As to how orderly this process will be? The further we go into megalomania and dependence on artificial systems the more drastic will be the reaction.

Michell sees a clear parallel between the destruction of Babylon described in the Book of Revelation and Plato's description of the fall of Atlantis and he believes the story is a warning about the danger in certain ordering. Plato made it very clear he's describing a geometrical pattern, the ground plan of Atlantis, which is actually not adequate, like a man-made thing, based on the number 10, where his ideal city was based on the number 12. He saw in Atlantis the mortal element prevailed and it collapsed...

It is about an error in the foundation law, which became more and more exaggerated and eventually led to the downfall of the whole thing. Life is bringing us through this process of revelation what was not even conceivable 100 years ago or less, the idea of there being a cosmological pattern expressible numerically, geometrically, beautifully which is the best possible reflection of the cosmos. That process establishes perfect patterns in one's own mind and then later on becomes the pattern for society. Then of course again over many generations what began as a revelation becomes the iron law and becomes unjust and leads to that process whereby the ideal turns into Babylon and is fit for destruction. The best possible cosmological pattern which is kept up in the institutes of society will enable the society to last for a very long time but no material thing lasts forever. Eventually it turns into dust.

But the good news, says Michell, is human nature will always outlive any system of tyranny imposed upon it, and like the phoenix will rise again.

Today, he believes, we are living like bats in the ruins of a haunted house among the relics and ruins of the past, not just physically but mentally, caught in outmoded forms of thought. If one is going to free oneself from the age old spells, he feels one must challenge the dominant myths as he once did with the most dominant theory of biology, evolution. It's not exactly that they are wrong, he explains, it's that they are partial and arbitrary. That's the way they teach in school and cottage. You have to challenge them to get anywhere near adjusting your mind to the reality of things. If you take to heart anyone's scientific explanation, you will have an uneasy life. For as you know, the theories which are portrayed as certainties are always changing. If you believe what they tell you in school now, by the time you get to be my age you'll be very old fashioned indeed.

ANCIENT STAR PICTURES

Lascaux, France, 17,000 years ago: in star pictures of the Pleiades and the ecliptic Astronomer Frank Edge has not only found elaborate star pictures in a whole new medium, cave paintings, he's put them in a whole new time frame: the Stone Age.

There had been a hint of this, Dr. Wheston Price noted that 10 dots on a Neanderthal cave painting clearly represented the Pleiades, the Seven Sisters. The dots were in all the right places, but they represent four more stars than we can see today with the naked eye. For Dr. Price, that was proof that cave men had better developed senses, including sight, a result of living in harmony with natural law and better nutrition provided by the ancient ways. Dr. Price doesn't mention where that cave painting is, but in the meantime, star pictures were recognized in two additional, well known, cave paintings.

Frank Edge's discovery began as a moment of pattern recognition, and it would take an astronomer's familiarity with the constellations to see it. Edge was just gazing at photos of the famed cave paintings at Lascaux, France, when he quickly identified the Pleiades in a series of six dots over the shoulder of the most prominent bull. He kept looking at the six figures, four of them bulls, that make up the Hall of Bulls mural. The more he looked, the more representations of stars he began to see in the outline of those figures.

Now that he's sorted it all out, he can tell you that what he saw were new constellations, arbitrary groupings of stars, that are bigger than those we know today. The body of that dominant bull incorporates the constellation Taurus, of which the Pleiades is a part. In the next bull, he found Orion and Gemini, and in the next Leo, with portions of Virgo. In the next figure, a horse's head is the feet of Virgo, and at the far end of the mural, a curious unicorn is made up of Scorpius, Sagitarrius and Libra. All the dots are in the right place, with appropriate shapes says Edge. With the Pleiades, we have it easy, with dots matching dots. All the rest are what you get when you connect dots into pictures.

It was time to turn to the computer for verification. Using Sky Globe, Edge went backwards in time to the date archeologists assign the cave paintings, based on cave floor pollen samples. And there the computer-generated pictures of the positions of the stars showed those very same constellations, all neatly lined up on the horizon on the summer solstice of 15,000 B.C., 17,000 years ago. He had confirmed the painting's date.

The Magdalenians, as this artistic culture is called, were Ice-Age hunter-gatherers who had practical reasons to mark the passage of time, carefully observe their environment, and pass this knowledge on to the next generation. Useful survival skills: living, celebrating and migrating in tune with the seasons. With no electric clocks, no printed calendars, no city lights to obscure the stars, and the need to travel light, the heavens were a handy timepiece, always there no matter where you were. Telling time would involve learning the rotation of the sun, moon, and stars, just like we learn to tell time today by the rotation of the hands of the clock around its face.

These paintings were teaching aids to memorize the stars and the mythology that went with them. A new breed of researchers are trampling the old view of cave art as attempts in sympathetic magic to bewitch the animals of the hunt. Instead, led by the evidence, they favor metaphysical and religious interpretations.

These star pictures are elaborate and well designed. The constellations depicted from one end of the mural to the other are just what you would see if you sat up all night watching the stars from sunset to sunrise. These stars appeared just above the horizon, along the ecliptic, the path the sun and moon follow through the sky. Most of the year, you couldn't see all these constellations on any one night, due to their axial tilt. But the night of the summer solstice of 15,000 B.C. is the one opportunity to see them all.

It gets better still. The mural wraps around the walls of the cave, with a natural division in the center. The figures on each half of the wrap-around face center, to gaze at one another. Those figures on the east wall represent the constellations that were visible as the sun rose. On the west wall are the constellations that were visible as the sun set. The stars are arranged on the cave wall in just the way you would see them if you were standing outside the cave.

Edge has found this layout is more than good composition, it's what turns this star picture into an ingenious device to fine-tune your calendar. The middle of the mural, where the two halves meet to face one another, is the same place in the sky where the full moon annually appears, closest yet prior to the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. Edge imagines the Magdalenians kept their calendar on track by watching the full moon until finally one midnight it hit that pre-designated spot, and there was no mistaking this day, it was the summer solstice. The mural, when first painted, remained accurate for several centuries.

Altamira Cave, Spain, 15,500 years ago: star pictures in a cave painting. Edge found another famous cave at the southern edge of Magdalenian territory, with a second mural that he correlated to the stars. While the Lascaux painting depicts just those constellations along the eclliptic, Altamira's is more ambitious in scope, with the cave wall organized to represent the entire visible night sky. Selected stars are depicted among all that would have appeared through the spring nights, from sunset to sunrise, from the horizon all the way up to the pole. Those closest to the Pole, the circumpolar stars that never set, are nicely arranged across the top of the mural. At the bottom are Scorpius, Leo and Taurus, the stars then seen along the horizon. The painting is dated at 13,500 B.C. It's fascinating to think of someone so long ago memorizing the stars and their relative positions within star groups, says Edge. He actually prefers the Paleolithic groupings, finding they make better sense, and easier identification of the stars. Our modern star groupings are a hodgepodge, he says.

Chartres, France, 700 years ago: star pictures in gothic cathedrals. And then I came across another ancient star chart in a book by Louis Charpentier, The Mysteries of Chartres Cathedral, which is not all that far from Lascaux. Amid an examination of the hidden geometry and role of the Templars in the construction of the cathedral, there is this layout showing a layout of churches all named Notre Dame, or Our Lady, of which Chartres Cathedral is one, and whose configuration matches the stars in a section of the constellation Virgo. Our Lady for the Virgin, Virgo and bulls for Taurus. Could we trace this symbolic language all the way back to Paleolithic times?

Egypt, 4-6,000 years ago: dressing your age in Egypt, during the Age of Taurus, this symbolic language was in full swing. The bull was the predominant symbol. Isis, the central goddess, wears an exotic headdress: a large disk representing the sun, held by two curving bull horns. This is the sign of times, when the sun rises at the equinox in the constellation Taurus, then it's the age of Taurus. You'd have to be a real star watcher to know that, because the sun obscures the stars. And because the equinox is a function of the sun, that moment of equal measure between the length of night and day, the sun is the obvious symbol.

The constellation also defines the major symbol for that age, lasting roughly 2,000 years. It was helpful to know that when in ancient Egypt and you saw a bull, you are probably looking at something created between 3-4,000 years B.C.

So now both the sun and moon have a relationship with Taurus that maps a moon moment and a 2,000+ year-long sun era, or solar age. A permanent association of Taurus with the sun disk is clear, with lots of time in which the iconography is valid, and therefore lots of opportunity to paint it on walls. But I wanted to know how the moon came to be associated with Taurus. Edge answered with a bit of history: early in the Age of Taurus, Mesopotamians marked the first day of the new year with the appearance of the first thin slice of the first crescent moon after the spring equinox. The symbol for Taurus, Edge suggests, is derived from this. To demonstrate, draw a circle for the sun.. Place atop it an open half circle, representing the thinnest crescent moon. You've just drawn the astrological symbol for Taurus. It doesn't hurt that the crescent moon slice, pointing upwards, also doubles nicely as a set of horns.

I have to confess that all through Egypt, I assumed Isis, with her disk/horn headdress, was wearing the full moon. My logic was sound enough. The sun and the full moon both have a simple icon, the circle. Often the sun has a dot in the center; this disk had no dot. We often portray the sun as masculine, the moon feminine, so a goddess would naturally wear a moon. Mirrors in Egypt are a thin silver disk (really silver polished to a fine reflective sheen), the color of the moon, with a handle in the shape of a cross. The circle supported by a cross is a symbol of the feminine. Often on those round Egyptian mirrors, the cross bar gently curved down on both ends, which I read as upside down bull horns. So perhaps that disk began as a moon, long ago at Lascaux, and when the solar age of Taurus arrived, naturally segued into the solar disk.

Edge said I wasn't necessarily off. He calculated that if the disk once represented the full moon, it had to rise at midnight on the summer solstice in Taurus, placing it half a precessional great year backward in time, just the time the cave art at Lascaux was painted.

Could the bull/moon/goddess, as a symbol, traveled from the Ice Age to the present? It could have been invented and lost many times over, with ample opportunity to be rediscovered by those using the same timepiece, the heavens. But you needn't look far for traditions that go way back. The use of herbs for medicines goes back at least to 60,000 years ago. That's the age of the oldest known grave at which medicinal botanical were found.

Edge is sure the moon/bull symbol was carried forward at least as far as the goddess cultures and agricultural communities of 6,000 B.C. I see a direct link between the crescent moon and the horns of the bull. The bull was considered the consort of the Great Goddess. The continuity of goddess figurines from the Ice Age to the goddess cultures is well documented. I believe we can now add the crescent moon, he says. And he believes that the association of the bull, and the constellation we know as Taurus, stuck, and can be traced all the way from 15,000 B.C. to the present.

OK, maybe it's because I'm naturally inclined this way, being a woman and all, but I'm seeing continuity between that Paleolithic moon rising between the star bull's horns and the Neolithic Goddess, all the way to Egypt's Isis, to her transformation to Hathor with her cow's ears and link to the planet Venus; to Venus the goddess of beauty and love, and her astrological association with Taurus, and in France, her transformation from Earth Mother to Our Lady to the Virgin/Virgo. And let's not forget that in William Sullivan's Secret of the Incas, he points out that the ancient Incan cultures assigned the brightest planets the same traits as did the Greeks and Romans, and had the equivalent of the goddess Venus. This goddess just keeps going. I'm sure that's because you can't keep a good woman down. (But she never will tell you her age.)

Edge does concede that traditions get layered over one another, so we have no idea how far back it all goes. And, he likes the fact that before the Magdalenians, Neanderthals used these same caves, and Cro-Magnon before that. We've lost track of how much continuity there was in oral traditions, says Edge. We wonder how they could have remembered it all. Yet in mediaeval France, minstrels were said to be able to remember 1000 words of rhyme, verse, and song in one hearing, then perfectly mimic it.

I've heard it said that the memory skills necessary to preserve this oral was also good practice for the development of that part of the mind used in visionary journeying. We activate the inner screen of the mind when remembering, the same part of our brain used for visionary practices.

Edge's discovery is important in a number of ways. It clearly sets the origins of astronomy back at least to Paleolithic times. It gives us yet another reason to update and upgrade the image of our early ancestors. And, it provides clear evidence for the long-term astronomical observations that are a cornerstone of both the iconography and the cultures that followed.

Interesting, too, that Lascaux's Hall of Bulls pictures the stars of the ecliptic, the sun's path around the earth, the highway the sun, moon and planets, from earth's point of view, follow around the sky. It later became the great circle used by astrologers, the zodiac.

FINGERPRINTING THE GODS

Though few would question the popularity of Raiders of the Lost Ark, no academic worth his salt, ever dared to say the movie was more than a Hollywood fantasy, either. So when respected British author Graham Hancock announced to the world in 1992 that he had actually tracked the legendary Ark of the Covenant of Old Testament fame to a modern-day resting place in Ethiopia, serious eyebrows everywhere twitched upward. Nevertheless, objective readers of his monumental volume The Sign and the Seal, on both sides of the Atlantic, soon realized that Hancock's case, incredible though it seemed, was not to be easily dismissed. The exhaustively researched work went on to enjoy widespread critical acclaim, to become a best-seller in both America and the U.K. as well as to become the subject of several television specials.

Hancock's writing and journalistic skills had been honed during stints as a war correspondent in Africa for The Economist and The London Sunday Times. Winner of an honorable mention for the H.L. Mencken Award (The Lords of Poverty, 1990), he also authored African Ark: Peoples of the Horn, and Ethiopia: The Challenge of Hunger. In The Sign And The Seal, Hancock was credited by The Guardian with having invented a new genre, an intellectual whodunit by a do-it-yourself sleuth....

Apparently though, the success of The Sign and the Seal has only whetted the writer's appetite for establishment chagrin. In his latest book Hancock is out for even bigger game. In fact, Fingerprints of the Gods seeks nothing less than to overthrow the cherished doctrine taught in classrooms worldwide, that civilization was born roughly 5,000 years ago. Anything earlier, we are told, was strictly primitive. In one of the most comprehensive efforts on the subject ever, over 600 pages of meticulous research, Hancock presents breakthrough evidence of a forgotten epoch in human history which preceded by thousands of years the presently acknowledged cradles of civilization in Egypt, Mesopotamia and the Far East. Moreover, he argues, this same lost culture was not only highly advanced but technologically proficient and was destroyed more than 12,000 years ago by the global cataclysm which brought the ice age to its sudden and dramatic conclusion.

Just released in the U.S., Fingerprints of the Gods (Crown, 608 pp.), seeks to duplicate early successes in Great Britain where by mid-June it had already enjoyed considerable critical praise and six straight weeks as the number-one bestseller. Kirkus Reviews called it a fancy piece of historical sleuthing, breathless, but intriguing and entertaining and sturdy enough to give a long pause for thought.

In America to promote Fingerprints, Hancock was at his hotel room in Washington, D.C. when Atlantis Rising caught up with him. With just two days of the tour behind him, it was still too early to estimate how the book would do here, but already he was enjoying the kind of favorable media attention which helped to make The Sign and the Seal an American hit. Interviewers, he felt, were generally positive and open to his ideas. While the reception among academics has been something less than cordial, that was to be expected. One of the reasons the book is so long, he explained, is because I've really tried to document everything very thoroughly, so that the academics have to deal with the evidence, rather than me as an individual, or with what, they like to think, are rather vague wishy-washy ideas. I've tried to nail it all down to hard fact as far as possible.

Nailing down the facts took Hancock on a worldwide odyssey which included stops in Peru, Mexico, and Egypt. Among the many intriguing mysteries which the author was determined fully to investigate were:

Ancient maps showing precise knowledge of the actual coastline of Antarctica, notwithstanding the fact that the location has been buried under thousands of feet of ice for many millennia.
Stone building technology, beyond our present capacity to duplicate, in Central and South America, as well as Egypt.
Sophisticated archeo-astronomical alignments at ancient sites all over the world.
Evidence of comprehensive ancient knowledge of the 25,776-year precession of the equinoxes (unmistakably encoded into ancient mythology and building sites, even though the phenomenon would have taken, at a minimum, many generations of systematic observation to detect, and which conventional scholarship tells us was not discovered until the Greek philosopher Hipparchus in about 150 B.C.).

Unfettered as he is by the constraints under which many so-called specialists operate, Hancock sees himself uniquely qualified to undertake such a far-reaching study. One of the problems with academics, and particularly academic historians, he insists, is they have a very narrow focus. And as a result they are very myopic.

Hancock is downright contemptuous of organized Egyptology, which he places in the particularly short-sighted category. There's a rigid paradigm of Egyptian history, he complains, which seems to function as a kind of filter on knowledge and which stops Egyptologists, as a profession, from being even the remotest bit open to any other possibilities at all. In Hancock's view Egyptologists tend to behave like priests in a very narrow religion, dogmatically and irrationally, if not superstitiously. A few hundred years ago they would have burned people like me and John West at the stake, he laughs.

Such illogical zealotry Hancock fears stands in the way of the public's right to know about what could be one of the most significant discoveries ever made in the Great Pyramid. In 1993, the German inventor Rudolph Gantenbrink sent a robot with a television camera up a narrow shaft from the Queen's chamber and discovered what appears to be a door with iron handles. That door, Hancock suspects, might lead to the legendary hall of records of the ancient Egyptians. But whatever is behind it, he feels it must be properly investigated. So far, though, there has been no official action, at least not a public one. Citing episodes personally witnessed, he protests you have Egyptologists saying there is no point in looking to see if there's anything behind that slab', they call it a slab', they won't call it a door, because we know there's not another chamber inside the great pyramid. The attitude infuriates Hancock, I wonder how they know that, in this 6-million-ton monument which has got room for 3,000 chambers the same size as the king's chamber. How do they have the temerity and the nerve to suggest that there's no point in looking?

The tantalizing promise of that door has led Hancock to speculate that the builders may have purposely arranged things to require technology of ultimate explorers. Nobody could get in there unless they had a certain level of technology. And he points out that even a hundred years ago we didn't have the means to do it. In the last 20 years the technology has been developed and now the shaft has been explored, and lo and behold; at the end is a door with handles. It's like an invitation, an invitation to come on in, look inside, when you're ready.

Hancock is far from sanguine about official intentions. If that door ever does get open, probably there will be no public access at all to what happens. He would like to see an international team present, but suspects that, instead, what we're going to get is a narrow elite group of Egyptologists who will strictly control information about what happens. In fact, he thinks it's possible that they've even been in there already. The Queen's chamber was suspiciously closed for more than nine months after Gantenbrink made his discovery. The story was given out that they were cleaning the graffiti off the walls but the graffiti was never cleaned off. I wonder what they were doing in there those nine months. There's what really makes me angry, that this narrow group of scholars control knowledge of what is at the end of the day the legacy of the whole of mankind.

Gantenbrink's door is not the only beckoning portal on the Giza plateau. Hancock is equally interested in the chamber which John Anthony West and Robert Schoch, in the course of investigating the weathering of the Sphinx, detected, by seismic methods, beneath the paws. Either location might prove to be the site of the hall of records. In both cases, the authorities have resisted all efforts at further investigation.

Hancock believes the entire Giza site was constructed after the crust of the earth had stabilized following a 30-degree crustal displacement which destroyed most of the high civilization then standing. According to Rand and Rose Flem-Ath's When the Sky Fell, upon which Hancock relies, that displacement had moved an entire continent from temperate zones to the south pole where it was soon buried under mountains of ice. This, he believes, is the real story of the end of Plato's Atlantis, but the A word is not mentioned until very late. I see no point in giving a hostile establishment a stick to beat me with, he offers. It's purely a matter of tactics.

The Giza complex was built, Hancock speculates, as part of an effort to remap and reorient civilization. For that reason he believes the 10,500 B.C. date (demonstrated by Bauval) to be especially important. The pyramids are a part of saying this is where it stopped. That's why the perfect alignment, for example, to due north, of the Great Pyramid is extremely interesting, because they obviously would have had a new north at that time.

Despite a determination to stick with the hard evidence, Hancock is not uncomfortable with the knowledge that his work is serving to corroborate the claims of many intuitives and mystics. On the contrary, he believes, that the (clairvoyant ability) of human beings is another one of those latent faculties which modern rational science simply refuses to recognize. I think we're a much more mysterious species than we give ourselves credit for. Our whole cultural conditioning is to deny those elements of intuition and mystery in ourselves. But all the indications are that these are, in fact, vital faculties in human beings, and I suspect that the civilization that was destroyed, although technologically advanced, was much more spiritually advanced than we are today.

Such knowledge, he believes, is part of the legacy of the ancients which we must strive to recover. What comes across again and again, particularly from documents like the ancient Egyptian Pyramid texts, which I see as containing the legacy of knowledge and ideas from this lost civilization, is a kind of science of immortality, a quest for the immortality of the soul. I feeling that immortality may not be guaranteed to all and everybody simply by being born. It may be something that has to be worked for. Something that results from the focused power of the mind. The real purpose of the pyramids, he suggests, may be to teach us how to achieve immortality. But before we can understand, we must recover from the ancient amnesia.

Hancock believes we are a species with amnesia. I think we show all the signs that there's a traumatic episode in our past, which is so horrible that we cannot somehow bring ourselves to recognize it. Just as the victim suffering from amnesia as a result of some terrible episode fears awakening memory of that trauma and tries to avoid it, so we have done collectively. The amnesia victim is, of course, forced to return to the source of his pain and, if you wish to move forward and continue to develop as an individual you have to overcome it. You have to confront it, deal with it, see it face to face, realize what it means, get over it, and get on with your life. That is what society needs to be doing.

In the institutional resistance to considering ancient achievement, Hancock sees a subconscious pattern based on fear. There's a huge impulse to deny all of this, because suddenly all the foundations get knocked out from under you and you find yourself swimming loosely in space without any points of reference anymore. The process needn't be so threatening though. If we can go through that difficult experience and come out on the other side, I think we'll all emerge better from it. I'm more and more convinced that the reason we are so messed up and confused and totally disturbed as a species at the end of the 20th century is because of this, because we've forgotten our past.

If it is true that those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it, then there are lessons in our past which can be ignored only at our peril. Clearly written into the mythology of many societies are stories of cataclysmic destruction. Hancock cites the work of Giorgio de Santillana, an authority on the history of science at M.I.T. In his book Hamlet's Mill, Santillana hypothesized an advanced scientific knowledge was encoded into ancient myth. Hancock points out, Once you accept that mythology may have originated with highly advanced people, then you have to start listening to what the myths are saying. What the myths are saying, he believes, is that a great cataclysm struck the world and destroyed an advanced civilization and a golden age of mankind. And the bad cataclysm is a recurrent feature in the life of the Earth and will return. The messages from many ancient sources, including the Bible, point to a recurrence of such a cataclysm in our lifetime. Notwithstanding such views, Hancock insists he is not a prophet of doom. His point is, We've received a legacy of extraordinary knowledge from the past, and the time has come for us to stop dismissing it. Rather, we must recapture that heritage, learn what we can from it, because there is vitally important information in it.

The stakes couldn't be higher. I'm convinced that we're locked today in a battle of ideas, he says. I think it's desperately important that the ideas that will lead to a recovery of our memory as a species triumph. And therefore we have to be strong, we have to be eloquent, and argue clearly and coherently. We have to see what our opponents are going to do, how they are going to try to get at us. And the dirty tricks that they are going to try and play. We have to fight them on their own ground.

Hancock's next book will be a collaboration with Robert Bauval in which he plans not only to complete the decoding of the archeo-astronomy of the Giza plateau, but also to protest the way official Egyptology has behaved. In the process, Hancock promises to air some of the establishment's dirty linen, to look behind the scenes at what they've been doing, how research has been hindered, misled and misguided by a narrow group of scholars protecting their own interests at the cost of the rest of humanity. We have uncovered a really serious scandal in Egyptology which, once it's brought out into public view, will make it impossible for this group of scholars, who have controlled Giza for the last 20 years, to have any credibility at all.

VISITORS FROM BEYOND

From a Human Potentials conference in Washington, D.C. to a Whole Life Exposition in Seattle, from campus bull sessions in Berkeley to cocktail party discussions in Boston, no talk of the hot alternative explorations into the mysterious wellsprings of civilization gets very far these days without at least a passing reference to the work of Zecharia Sitchin. And there are no signs that interest in the author of the five volumes of The Earth Chronicles, and the forthcoming Divine Encounters from Avon Books, is cooling.

In fact, Sitchinites, as his true-believers unabashedly call themselves, have managed to proclaim in nearly every available forum, from talk shows to the internet, their gospel according to Sitchin, namely that mankind owes most of its ancient legacy to visiting extraterrestrials. Moreover, Sitchinist evangelism has, with some help from the movie Stargate, achieved a not insignificant foothold in the public imagination. And while many may quarrel with his conclusions, very few will dispute that the Russian-born Israeli resident and ancient language expert has indeed come up with some very intriguing, if not compelling, data.

Indeed, few can match Sitchin's scholarly credentials. One of a handful of linguists who can read Sumerian cuneiform text, he is also a recognized authority in ancient Hebrew as well as Egyptian hieroglyphics. Not a little controversy, though, surrounds his unusual method of interpreting the ancient texts. Whether Biblical, Sumerian, Egyptian or otherwise, Sitchin insists they should be read, not as myths, but quite literally, essentially as journalism. Forget about Jungian archetypes and metaphysical/spiritual analysis. If somebody says a group of 50 splashed down in the Persian Gulf, he argues, under the leadership of Enki and waded ashore and established a settlement, why should I say that this never happened, and this is a metaphor, and this is a myth, and this is imagination, and somebody just made it all up, and not say (instead) this tells us what happened.

Beginning with The 12th Planet in 1976, Sitchin has expanded his unique explanation of the ancient texts into a vast and detailed history of what he believes were the actual events surrounding mankind's origins. Presented is extensive 6,000-year-old evidence that there is one more planet in the solar system, from which astronauts, the biblical giants (nephilim), came to Earth in antiquity. Subsequent titles in The Earth Chronicles series were The Stairway to Heaven (1980), The Wars of Gods and Men (1985), The Lost Realms (1990) and When Time Began (1993). A companion book to the series Genesis Revisited was published in 1990.

Laid out in the series is an elaborate tale of space travelers from the theoretical 10th planet (12th if the Sun and Moon are included) in the solar system, called Nibiru, or Marduk in Babylonian. This planet, claims Sitchin, has a very eccentric orbit traveling from far beyond Pluto, cutting across the orbits of the rest of the planets, and then half-circling the Sun between Mars and Jupiter, taking 3,600 Earth years in the process. On its closest orbital approach, about 450,000 years ago, a band of Nibiruans known as the Anunnaki, landed on Earth in southern Mesopotamia and proceeded to mine gold, evidently needed for their planet's survival. Early efforts in the Persian Gulf proved inadequate, so underground mining in South Africa was begun.

Unused to such backbreaking toil, the workers ultimately rebelled, precipitating a visit to Earth by Anu, the Lord of Nibiru. At a meeting convened to resolve the problem it was decided to genetically engineer a race of slave workers by crossing the ape-like creatures then inhabiting Earth with the Anunnaki. About 300,000 years ago, after a period of trial and error, the perfect model of a primitive worker was achieved by implanting the engineered embryo into the womb of a birth goddess. Mass production quickly followed. The rest, according to Sitchin, is history.

His books go on to describe in detail the evolving love/hate relationship between men and the gods and how that relationship shaped the early days of man on earth.

Whatever the Annunaki may have thought of their new creation, the literary critics have found Sitchin's work impressive. A dazzling performance, raved the Kirkus Reviews. The Library Journal found it Exciting...Credible.

Cornered recently at his New York office, the author took some time to comment for Atlantis Rising on his new book Divine Encounters, expected in stores in November just in time for the Christmas gift-buying season, and other topics of interest both modern and ancient.

Encounters relates many stories from Biblical, Sumerian and Egyptian sources. From the Garden of Eden to Gilgamesh, Sitchin believes all references to deity, or deities, are actually indicating the Annunaki, but he does distinguish between the current so-called UFO abduction experience as studied by Harvard professor John Mack and the ancient encounters. Stressing that he personally has never been abducted, he points out that whereas the current experience is usually viewed as a negative phenomenon with needles and other forms of unwelcome intrusion, in ancient times, to join the deities was a great and unique privilege. Only a few were entitled to such an encounter.

Many of the encounters were sexual. The Bible clearly states, he points out, that they (the Anunnaki) chose as wives the daughters of men and had children by them, men of renown, etc., the so-called demi-gods regarding which there are more explicit tales both in Mesopotamian literature and Egyptian so-called mythology, and Greek to some extent, Alexander the Great believed that these sons of the gods were mated with his mother. The Epic of Gilgamesh tells how one goddess tried to entice the hero into her bed and how that he suspected that if she succeeded he would end up dead. Other encounters involved virtual reality, and experiences akin to the Twilight Zone. Also up for an analysis are the experiences of the prophets Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Isaiah. Finally Sitchin claims to have unraveled the secret identity of the being named YHWH, and to have come to a conclusion that is mind-boggling even for me. Nothing further could be elicited on the subject. Buy the book, he suggests.

In the nearly 20 years since The 12th Planet first appeared, Sitchin has seen a considerable change in attitudes toward his work. Still, unlike von Dannikin and others, Sitchin's study has not been lambasted by other scientists, a fact which he attributes to the soundness of his research. The only difference between me and the scientific community, I'm talking about Asyriologists, Sumeriaologists, etc., is that they refer to all these texts which I read (literally) as mythology. Today, he says many researchers have come to follow his line of reasoning. By his latest reckoning, there are nearly thirty books by other writers which have been spawned by his writings.

While Sitchin's facts may be beyond challenge, many of his conclusions are another matter, even among today's most avant garde thinkers. Mars researcher Richard Hoagland complains that Sitchin is trying to treat the Sumerian cuneiform text like some kind of ancient New York Times, while others, like symbolist scholar John Anthony West, believe subtleties in the high wisdom of the ancients have completely eluded Sitchin. For those, his views are essentially simplistic and materialistic. He is a mechanistic reductionist and a throwback to 19th century positivism. Still others are reminded of the efforts of fundamentalist preachers to pin the mystical visions of Saint John the Revelator on specific historical personages (i.e., Napoleon or Hitler or Saddam Hussein as the anti-Christ, etc.).

Sitchin though remains unrepentent, with little use for what he calls the established view, which he says is that the texts deal with mythology and that it all is imagination, and, whether metaphor or not, that these things never happened. Someone just imagined them. In contrast, he has no doubt that these things really happened.

The argument that the Sumerian and Egyptian civilizations got their impetus from extraterrestrials, however, does not rule out the notion that there could have been earlier and perhaps even more advanced civilizations on Earth. There's no denial of that, he says, citing Sumerian and Assyrian writings. Ashurbanipal, for instance, said he could read writing from before the flood, and describes cities and civilizations that existed before the deluge, but which were wiped out by it. So on any question of whether there could have been an earlier civilization before the Sumerians or even before the flood, which Sitchin places at seven- to eight-thousand years prior, the answer is absolutely yes. No matter how far back he goes, though, Sitchin sees only the hand of Annunaki behind human achievement.

Plato should be taken literally too, though Sitchin says he has some difficulty placing the location of Atlantis, whether it was in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, whether it was in the Pacific in what was known later as Mu or whether it was in Antarctica, I don't know what actually (Plato) was talking about, but the notion that once upon a time there was a civilization that was destroyed or came to an end through a major catastrophe, a great flood or something similar, I have absolutely no problem with that.

Sitchin is among those who believe the Great pyramid is much older than is maintained by orthodox Egyptology. In his second book The Stairway to Heaven he was at considerable pains to establish that the famous cartouche cited as evidence that the structure was built by Khufu, was, in fact, a forgery. Sitchin meticulously makes the case that Colonel Howard Vyse actually faked the marks in the spaces above the King's Chamber where he claimed to have discovered them. Since publication, additional corroboration has come from the great grandson of the master mason who assisted Vyse. It seems that Colonel Vyse was seen entering the pyramid on the night in question with brush and paint pot in hand and was heard to state that he intended to reinforce some of the marks he had found, ostensibly to render them more legible. Upon failing to dissuade Vyse from his plan, the mason quit. The story, however was kept alive and handed down through the family till it eventually came to Sitchin, further reinforcing his unshakable conviction of the true antiquity of the Great Pyramid.

Regarding the face on Mars, Sitchin is more ambivalent. Whether or not the face is real or a product of light and sand, he is more impressed by other photographed structures. Citing his own training at Jerusalem's Hebrew university in the 1940s, he argues, One of the rules you learn (in archeology) is, if you see a straight line, it means an artificial structure, because there are no straight lines in nature. Yet there are quite a number of such structures recorded by the cameras.

According to Sitchin, it all corroborates the Sumerian statement, to be found in his first book. Mars served as a way station, he says, citing a 5,000-year-old Sumerian depiction and other texts (see illustration): They say that the turn was made at Mars. He believes an ancient Mars base may have been recently reactivated which could account for the disappearance of the Russian Phobos Mars Mission as well as the U.S. Mars Observer two years ago. He also speculates that such a site may prove to be where many UFOs are now originating.

When the reporter inquired as to just what he might think of the work of de Santillana and von Dechend in Hamlet's Mill (1969), Sitchin offered to kiss him on both cheeks. It seems that the two MIT professors in their great investigation of the origins of human knowledge and its transmission through myth, had raised the question: But now, is Nibiru as important as all that? and had gone on to answer it, We think so. Or, to say it the other way around: once this astronomical term and two or three more are reliably settled, one can begin in earnest to get wise to and to translate Mesopotamian code.

Sitchin does not hesitate to stake his claim, I think that I achieved it. For him it is clear, Nibiru is and remains the 12th planet.

As to when it will return to Earth's vicinity, Sitchin isn't talking. Not yet anyway.

Deep in the heart of General Motors' advanced engineering operations a small group of people are working on flying vehicles, admits Larry Burns, vice president of GM Research and Development. "I don't rule out flying," he says. "GM thinks about future possibilities." Burns points out that 8% of the world's population doesn't experience what he calls "automobility." As those nations become more advanced they may look for alternate methods of transportation, he says. "We are looking for technology that is robust in the future."

Project Home 2010 Video Shows Levitating Magnet-Propelled Vehicle

A project featuring two Australian 12-year-old inventors beginning in 1999 posted a video Wednesday of what is labeled as a magnet-powered vehicle (RC toy size) buzzing through the snow, mud and a creek. Even more astonishing is that it is also shown apparently levitating.

It shows a miniature, 4-wheeled vehicle about 14 inched long and 6 inches wide, with tires of around 4.5 inches in diameter. The video shows the vehicle speeding along on a snowy path, with the caption: "Magnetic-Powered Project Home 2010 Vehicle." A laptop computer is shown, which is apparently controlling the vehicle remotely.

Next is a scene in which the vehicle appears to be floating stationary in the air, unperturbed (compared, say, to a small balloon, which would be jostled by the slightest breeze). It's so unusual, it doesn't look real. The first reaction was to think there must be some kind of illusion or video doctoring going on. It appears to be suspended about 1.5 feet in the air. A guy walks up to the device and waves his hand under and around it, though not from every approach. Then he presses his hand down on it, and though it moves a little, it actually appears to be resisting his push with quite a bit of force, as if it might sustain at least a 10 to 25-lb additional force against it. When he pushes it from the side, it moves about an inch but then seems to spring back to its prior position. The force required to offset it horizontally didn't seem to be nearly as much as its ability to resist a vertical change in elevation.

The captions say: "guidance computers control vehicle 'drifting' in lev mode." Then "Lev height controlled by EMF focal positioning", and finally: "vehicle 'bobbing' over object is stable."

I suggested that they shoot another video and show the vehicle lifting off the ground, then returning to the ground. They should also show that there are no connections or supports from any direction. I wonder if it is possible for the vehicle to move while in the air -- if they are able to control its position.

I'm also curious about their magnetic propulsion which is allegedly how the thing is buzzing along the ground.

They apparently envision this being able to withstand rugged use, showing it driving through mud; and at the end of the video the vehicle goes plowing into a stream.

If this is a real technology, I hope they will not allow the military to gobble it up for war-making purposes alone. This should be used for civilian use, to bring us the future world of the Jetsons that we anticipated as kids.

Replicating the Coke bottle experiment

Remove the bottle cap from the bottle; drill 4 holes 3/32nd of an inch 90 degrees apart.. Insert the 4 electrodes in each hole. Silicone the holes so that it will make an air tight connection. Make sure the electrodes do not touch one another. Insulate if needed. Take the 1/2 cup of seven-up and mix it with koh-2 and allow 10 minutes for the catalyst to perform. Insert the electrode assembly in the bottle and screw cap tight. Turn bottle on its side and make sure the electrodes do not immerse in the solution. Take the volt meter, set it to measure millivolts. Find out the highest output by touching the different electrodes. It should read around 100 - 175 millivolts. Apply 100 k resistor to the load. Meter should read 120 millivolts; with a 50 k it should be 80 millivolts, and with a 25 k it will read 40 millivolts.

Conclusion:
The creation of electrical energy in this reactor is achieved by simple process of hydrogen ionization.

While the world commemorates the Apollo astronauts' landing on the moon 40 years ago, I was privileged Monday, on the moon landing anniversary, to interview nuclear engineer, Mehran T. Keshe of the Keshe Foundation, who on that momentous day had sent out notice to government leaders around the world that he has a plasma technology in Belgium with anti-gravity (not his terminology) and energy-generating ramifications that could lead the way to commercially viable journeys into space and to the moon, along with generating affordable, renewable energy both for transportation and electricity.

He plans to publicly demonstrate the technology to thousands of people in major cities around the world next year; and he plans to start booking flights for space travel – e.g. up 60 km above the earth – by 2014, and for flights to the moon by 2016, transporting thousands of people to those destinations for a small fraction of the cost of what fuel-based shuttle services are projecting. He'll even be accepting down payments with guarantees for both flight opportunities. You'll be able to put 20% of $50,000 Euros down to reserve your seat on a trip to the moon. In the interview, Keshe briefly explained the science behind the technology. "It's not anti-gravity," he corrected me. Rather, what happens is that his plasma reactor creates a local imitation of the Earth's magnetic-gravitational properties, complete with magnetosphere, providing protection from the cosmic rays that can otherwise be deadly outside of the Earth's atmosphere. Because the phenomenon is local to the reactor, a gravitational force of 1-G is maintained for all craft occupants, including during acceleration and deceleration.

Existing craft, such as a 747, minus the wings (they get in the way), could serve as the transport shell, once fitted with the plasma reactor; though spherical craft would be better. Weight is no issue. Number of passengers is no issue. And no specialized training would be required for the pilots of such craft.

And the transport capabilities are not just for space. Imagine going from New York to Paris in a matter of minutes, rather than half a day. Imagine having one of these to beat the traffic to work. Imagine living in some remote location in the Alps, powered by the same technology, and commuting to Australia -- or to the moon, to help build a colony there. The trucking industry would no longer involve highways, but would be point-to-point specific, rapid, and involve no fuel costs.

Speaking of fuel, one of my primary interests in this technology is its claims for cheap, clean energy generation. Keshe claims that his reactors can produce on the level of kilowatts of electricity, with no fuel, drawing energy from the environment where it is replenished from an inexhaustible source using principles of plasma. And he says that these reactors (in the range of 3 kW output, continuous) are available presently for interested parties (e.g. for potential licensing) to inspect or to test for themselves.

He told me that the technology is far enough advanced, and simple enough that a licensing party could be in production in a matter of several weeks, not including the 2-3 month training period for learning the technology. Given the regulatory hoops alone, I find that a bit hard to believe, but I'm intrigued by the principle of simplicity. He said that the quantity of units presently deployed numbers in the hundreds. Those entering into negotiations for licenses do so under NDA, and will be required to provide proof of financial capability of payment for setting up factories and paying for licensing.

While the demonstration units will be expensive (e.g. $50k Euros to purchase for testing), once mass produced, Keshe thinks the price for these kilowatt generators could be in the few hundreds of dollars -- like ten times cheaper than the cheapest energy sources available today of any variety; and they would last for decades. For example, a 3-5 kilowatt unit might cost $200 Euros and last 20-30 years.

Eventually, each community or even each home could be fitted with one, and each vehicle. The technology wouldn't really scale down smaller than that, so you'll still need cords, batteries or some kind of inductive coupling for your portable devices and appliances.

I have asked Keshe if I can contact some of the people who have tested his technology, and he is in process of receiving permissions to do so, as the contract as it is written grants confidentiality.

Keshe has filed at least two international patents.

I asked Keshe about the gravity modification capabilities of his technology in terms of what he's actually accomplished, beyond just theoretical speculation. He said that he has elevated a 100+ kg mass -- himself. Apparently, in his book, he describes how he damaged a system by jumping on it last year while it was flying. He sent me a link to a confidential video showing a 9 kg mass changing to 8 kg, and a 7 kg mass changing to 6 kg. He claims to have been able to figure out not only the elevation control, but also the direction of motion control.

Keshe told me that his device is a "simple nuclear reactor," but that it doesn't involve controlled nuclear isotopes, but that it involves materials that could be found in a home, having minute levels of radioactivity. Part of the process apparently involves extracting hydrogen from the atmosphere, so I presume that space travel would require storage tanks of some kind. Keshe said that even the "human body is a miniature nuclear reactor", involving nitrogen.

You will also notice on the KesheFoundation YouTube channel that there are a number Coke bottle demonstration videos. Keshe said that hundreds of people have replicated the plasma creation and graphene-coating capabilities demonstrated in this simple proof of concept experiment. This demonstration apparently mimics on a micro level what happens on the macro level in a solar system or in a galaxy -- the microcosm mimicking the macrocosm.

Keshe said that there are thousands of scientists from around the world who have been working on various elements of this technology for years, helping to bring the technology to the point that it is at now. He specifically mentioned U.C.L.A., and said that some governments have also been involved in replicating and refining the design. He told me in an email that the technology was reviewed by team of professors in Belgium in 2005 for seven months, and by another Belgian university considering the nano technology, which was also reviewed by nano institutes. The technology has also been reviewed by a government nuclear research center in Europ, by top universities in Iran, China, Korea, "and I think DARPA has [a] full report where we have been and [a] copy of all reports."

As exciting as the above claims are about gravity modification and energy generation, Keshe is even more enthusiastic about the health ramifications of the technology. He said that the carbon coating on the nervous system can be improved, helping conditions such as M.S. or chronic fatigue, just by drinking treated water.

I didn't quite catch why, but apparently some Belgian news outlet has a vendetta against Keshe because he would not sell out his technology some years ago, nor subject himself to the system of bribes involved in the European energy industry; and they vowed a media blackout of his technology, which apparently they have been successful thus far in enforcing. As of today, our coverage at Examiner.com is the only thing that pulls up in a Google news search for recent news stories on Keshe.

On the less malevolent level, Keshe said that NASA asked him to remove some claims from his site about rapid transport between destinations on earth, due to the disruptive ramifications of that statement. There are a lot of existing industries that would be rendered obsolete but such technology -- if it is real, if they don't adopt it -- including NASA. Keshe told me he is some 30-60 years ahead of NASA (not including the affiliated black ops who have been using UFO-like craft around for decades).

At the end of our interview, I asked Keshe about the irony of his being Iranian, with Iran being a point of potential war erupting soon. In defense of his native country, he said that Iran is "a peaceful nation," and the Iranian government has been very supportive of his technology. The irony is found in that Keshe, may have the very technology that would not only render war obsolete by introducing abundance where there has been scarcity, but also by removing borders because of how easy it will be to travel between any two points.

It's likely that many of these assertions about the Keshe technology capability and price are on the way optimistic end of the spectrum, per the inventor pride that is common. However, there seems to be enough compelling aspects to this account that make it worth investigating further.

On December 26th 1985 author Whitley Strieber together with his wife and son were staying at their weekend cabin in woods in up-state New York. During the night, Strieber was awoken by noises and a small being entering his bedroom. He blacked out and was then conscious of being in a room with several of the beings. They conducted a horrific series of tests by inserting needles and other implements into his brain and anus.

After the incident, Strieber thought he might be going mad and consulted several psychiatrists. According to him, medical tests for temporal lobe epilepsy proved negative. However, hypnosis and spontaneous memories uncovered more abduction experiences dating back to his childhood. Strieber told of friends and relatives who could testify that incidents had occurred where he had gone missing, to return with no memory of where he had been.

Strieber told his story through an international best-seller, Communion, which was published in 1987 to a storm of controversy. As Streiber was by trade a best-selling horror writer, critics accused him of producing a novel purporting to be fact. Strieber always denied this, and his actions did not support the charge.

However, the book was horrific, and contributed seriously to the abduction debate. His story was not about extraterrestrials, but questioned our whole concept of what reality actually is. He told Peter Hough, "I think we are dealing with an objective phenomenon which effects each of us subjectively". The book was made into a movie starring Christopher Walken.

Blue Beam Project

It involves two things. A technologically simulated "second coming" and the reemmrgence of new "MONTAUK" type projects that have the ability to take up a whole bunch of people as in a "rapture" type of situation and whisk the whole bunch into never-never land. Ironically, portions of the holographic projections have the potential for changing the planet into oneness with God. Unfortunately, this operates on the premise that Man shall somehow become God in human form and control other Men and dictate all actions and thoughts.

The calculated resistance to the new religion, the New World Order and the new "Messiah" will entail human loss on a massive scale in the ensuing "holy wars".The "BLUE BEAM PROJECT" will pretend to be the universal fulfillment of the prophecies of old; as major an event as that which took place 2000 years ago. In principle, it will make use of the sky as a holographic projection screen for space-based laser-generating satellites (star wars). These projectors will project simultaneous images to the four corners of the planet, in every language by region. It deals with the religious aspect of the NEW WORLD ORDER.

The "system" has already been tested. Holographic projections of the "CHRIST IMAGE" have already been seen in some remote desert areas. These have only been reported in tabloid papers, so they are instantly rendered moot. They can also project images of alien craft, aliens, monsters, angels - you name it. Computers will coordinate the satellites and software will run the show-and-tell.

Hollography is based on very nearly identical signals combining to produce and image, or hologram, with depth perception. This is equally applicable to acoustic (ELF,VLF,LF) waves as it is to optical phenomena. Specifically, the "show" will consist of laser projections of multiple holographic images to different parts of the planet, each receiving different images according to the predominating regional religious faith. Not a single area will be excluded. With computer animation and sound effects appearing to come from the depths of space, astonished followers of the various creeds will witness their own returned Messiah in spectacularly convincing lifelike realness.

The various images of Christ, Mohammed, Buddha, Krishna, etc., will merge into ONE after "correct explanation" of the mysteries, prophecies and revelations are disclosed. This "ONE GOD" will in fact function as the "Anti-Christ", who will "explain" that the various scriptures "have been misunderstood"- that the religious of old are responsible for turning brother against brother, nation against nation - that the religions of the world must be abolished to make way for the GOLDEN AGE (NEW AGE) of the One World Religion, representing the One God they see before them. Naturally, this superbly staged, full-scale production will result in social and religious disorder on a massive scale. Wonder what the television transmitters of religious networks will be doing on that day ? But before all this, they have to go through four different steps in order to get to Project Blue Beam.

1: The first step concerns the breakdown of all archaological knowledge. It deals with staging earthquakes at certain precise locations around the planet where supposed new "discoveries" will finally explain (for them) that the meanings of the basic doctrines of all the world`s major religions are "wrong." This falsification will be used to make the population believe that all religious doctrine has been misunderstood and misinterpreted. The falsification started with the film 2001: A Space Odessy, the TV-series STAR TREK, the STAR WARS films, E.T., all of which deal with space "invasion" and "protection". JURASSIC PARK, was to push the theory of evolution. 2: The second step deals with the gigantic space show: 3D optical holograms and sounds, laser projections of multiple holographic images in different parts of the world, each receiving a different image, according to its predetermined original national religious faith. This new "god" image will talk in all languages. As an exemple, the Soviets have manufactured the advanced computers and have programmed them with the minute psychological particles based upon their studies of the anatomy and biology of the human body, as well as their studies on the anatomy, chemistry and electricity of the humain brain. These computers have also been fed with the different languages of the world.

3: The third step deals with telepathic electronic two-way communication, where ELF(Extra Low Frequency), VLF (Very Low Frequency), and LF (Low Frequency) waves will reach the people of the earth through the insides of their brains, making each person believe that his own God is speaking to him from within his owm soul. Such rays, from satellite, are fed from the memory of computers that store much data about the human being and his languages. These rays will then interlace and interweave with the natural thinking processes to form what we call the ARTIFICIAL TALK.

4: The fourth step involves universal supernatural manifestations using electronic means. This step contains three different orientations: The first one is to make mankind believe that an alien invasion is about to occur upon every major city on the earth. This is to push each major nation into using its nuclear capability to strike back. In this manner, it would put each of these nations in a state of full disarmament before the United Nations after the false attack. The second is to make the "christian" believe that a major rapture is occurring, with a simple "played" divine imtervention of an alleged "good" alien force coming to save the good people from a brutal satanic attack. Its goal is to get rid of all significant opposition to the NEW WORLD ORDER. The third orientation is a mixture of electronic and supernatural forces. The waves (frequencies) used at that time will allow supernatural forces to travel through fiber optics cable, coaxial cable,electric and telephone lines in order to penetrate all electronic equipment and appliances that will by then all have a special microship installed. The goal of this step deals with the materialization of satanic ghosts, spectres, and poltergeists all across the globe in order to push all populations to the edge of a wave of suicide, killing and permanent psychological disorder. After that night of the THOUSAND STARS, HUMANITY IS BELIEVED TO BE READY FOR THEM TO ENTER IN A "NEW MESSIAH" TO REESTABLISH PEACE EVERYWHERE AT ANY COST, EVEN AT THE COST OF FREEDOM.

Future Predictions of Cyrano

The French author Savinien de Cyrano de Bergerac, whom fate and Edmond Rostand's play have made immortal for the size of his nose and his superlative swordsmanship, should properly be remembered as a lively science-fiction writer, a competent playwright, an inquiring scholar, and also, perhaps, as a prophet.

His two romances on trips to the moon and the sun (which usually appear in a single volume under the English title Voyages to the Moon and the Sun) were published posthumously in 1656 and 1662, respectively. In them, only a few years after Galileo had recanted the fact before the Inquisition, Cyrano described the orbit of the earth and other planets around the sun, and the weak gravitational field of the moon, and he proposed, among seven fanciful methods of interplanetary travel, a form of rocket propulsion. He also proposed, 300 years before the idea was borrowed by the writer Erich von Däniken, that the gods and mythological beings with whom earth's history is intertwined were actually travelers from outer space-in this case, inhabitants of the moon (though originally from the sun) who could change their shape at will.

Cyrano also, and far more remarkably, described the following items of moon technology: houses that could be withdrawn into the ground on huge screws in cold weather (though the retractable screw is something no yet attempted by builders of berm houses); houses that moved about with the seasons, driven by sails filled by bellows; devices to record and play back speech; and radiant bulbs that made the lunar night as bright as day.

Although many science-fiction writers have forecast new technology, none was so early in the field as Cyrano, with his prevision of such electrical and electronic inventions as the phonograph and tape recorder, mobile homes and light bulbs. He may, indeed, have equals in the field, but we shall have to wait another two or three hundred years to find out.

UFO drone spotted in California Capitola

While most ufo pictures seem to turn out fuzzy or blurry, lacking frame of reference, or appear only as a small dot of light in a sea of black – these pictures are quite the opposite and are startlingly clear. This first picture (taken on May 06, 2007), of the ufo drone hovering over some power lines, was taken by a individual known only as ‘Chad’ while he was hiking near his home in central California, near the city of Capitola.

This picture shows a view of the ufo’s ‘wing’, where there appears to be some type of symbols or heiroglyphics on it. Chad reported the ufo as emitting only a slight hum, similar to sound a high voltage transformer would make.

Chad got a few photos as the ufo was leaving. The first few close-ups he got as it first approached, hovering over the power lines. Upon leaving, it was reported as having took off into the distance pretty fast. As you can see from the picure, this ufo appeared very close to a neighborhood. Chad also reported that a car passing by also saw the ufo and stopped. The occupants of the car were visibly shaken, as was Chad.

Alien Warnings As We Enter Space

The world changed irrevocably when the Russian capsule Sputnik 1 briefly entered space. A few days later, on November 2/3rd, Laika the dog became the first life-form to enter Earth's orbit. If UFOs are intelligently controlled craft, then their occupants must have recognized the significance of this event. Indeed, UFO activity of an unprecedented nature occurred at this very time.

Starting on October 31st and ending on November 6th, three dozen encounters took place in western USA in which motor vehicles had their ignition systems stalled by a UFO. Whilst there had been occasional reports of these so-called 'car stop' cases - this wave focused in the exact period when the Earth first entered space and was far more intense than previously experienced.

Only hours before Laika took to the skies - starting at 10.40 pm on November 2nd - no fewer than 10 cases were reported to police where an egg-shaped object stalled a car or switched off its lighting within a few miles of Levelland, Texas.
Another concentration of reports occurred in and around the nuclear facilities at White Sands. At 3am on November 3rd, military police patrolling a site at Alamogordo watched in amazement as a UFO descended onto the desert sands. It landed right next to the disused bunkers that had shielded scientists from the world's first atomic explosion 12 years earlier.

At seemingly the same time in the Nullarbor desert of Australia at Maralinga, the British had just detonated the world's most recent atomic explosion. As RAF crews cleared the site, a hat-shaped object appeared right on top of the blast zone.

In late November a message etched into copper foil was found near Scarborough, Yorkshire, after a UFO had reportedly crashed out of the sky. In a simple picture language decoded at Manchester University, it explained that the aliens were worried about mankind's attempts to get into space and our inability to control nuclear explosions.

Did UFOs prove their intelligent control in this extraordinary fashion? Were they emphasizing these warnings about space flight and atom bombs and displaying their ability to control our technology at the sites of atomic explosion on opposite sides of the world? It is quite remarkable that all these events took place on precisely the day when mankind took its first edgy steps into space.

UFO vehicles flying in the magnetic convention of operation:

The name "magnetic convention of operation" is assigned to the principle of operation of UFOs and Magnocraft, in which these starship form propelling and stabilisation forces in the result of magnetic repulsion and attraction that occurs between propulsors of these vehicles, and the natural magnetic field that prevails in the surrounding of these spaceship. In the "magnetic convention of operation" are able to fly UFOs and Magnocraft of all possible generations, types, and designs. But in spite of that, this particular convention is NOT used frequently on the Earth because in it the UFO vehicles are well visible for people, while crews of these starship (i.e. UFOnauts) try to continually hide from people their presence and activities on the Earth. Therefore most frequently the "magnetic convention of operation" is used at nights when the majority of people sleeps and also in areas deprived of human population - where UFOnauts are not afraid that someone sees them.
The "magnetic convention of operation" (which allows to travel only through the space) must be clearly distinguished from the "telekinetic convention of operation" described in part #E of this web page (which allows UFO vehicles to disappear from the human sight), and also distinguished from the "time travel convention of operation" described in item #F of this web page (which allows UFO vehicles to travel to the past or to the future). Comprehensive descriptions all possible "conventions of operation" in which can fly both all Magnocrafts as well as all UFOs, are presented in subsection M1.4 from volume 11 of the newest monograph [1/5], and also in subsection B3 from volume 2 of older monograph [1/4].
In this "magnetic convention of the operation" the utilisation of the magnetic field for propelling UFO vehicles introduces certain consequences for these starships. For example, it causes that (a) UFO starships must be build in the strictly defined manner, that (b) their shape and dimensions must be described by a set of equations that is relatively easy for defining, that (c) there are only 8 types of discoidal, crew carrying UFOs which are named as types K3, K4, K5, K6, K7, K8, K9 i K10, that (d) all phenomena which UFOs induce can be predicted exactly and described already on our present level of knowledge (after all, scientifically we learned already attributes and actions of magnetic fields), etc., etc. When we analyse these consequences scientifically, then already at our present level of knowledge it can be predicted that UFOs of the so-called "first generation" can work only in three different "modes of operation". These modes are called (1) the "throbbing mode", (2) the "magnetic whirl" mode of operation, and (3) the "magnetic lens" mode of operation. In each of these three modes of operation the same UFO vehicle is going to look completely different. This part #C of the web page illustrates how a typical single UFO vehicle looks like in each of these three modes of operation.
The outer diameter "D" of every UFO vehicles is strictly defined by the following equation D = 0.5486*2**K metres (i.e. the "outer diameter D" expressed in metres is equal to the unit of measure called the "cosmic cubit" that amounts to 0.5486 of the Earthly meter, multiplied by 2 to power "K".) In turn the number of permanent crew members for each UFO vehicle is "K" (one should not confuse the number "K" of permanent crew members with the number of passengers).

40 UFO cases remained unexplained in Uruguay

The UFO phenomenon has manifested itself many times in Uruguay. Thirty years after research began, 40 cases remain unexplained. The files were declassified and EL PAIS was allowed access to them.

The Uruguayan Air Force will not publish a "Blue Book" containing the results of its 30 years of research, but the high command allowed EL PAIS access to records and eyewitness accounts.

While the Air Force commission that studies these cases has been operating for only a few decades, the UFO phenomenon began in Uruguay in 1947, at the same time that worldwide enthusiasm for the subject commenced. While Uruguay is no Roswell, the emblematic location for the subject of ETs, it is a place that is catalogued as propitious for seeing unidentified flying objects, according to Col. Ariel Sanchez, an Air Force officer with 33 years of active service and who has formed part of the UFO commission since 1989. He currently presides over it.

The agency operates out of a small office located in downtown Montevideo and has a computer database and print archives as well, which have not yet been computerized. There are hundreds of files in green binders under the heading "Confidential", containing eyewitness accounts, photographs, sketches, drawings, documents and evaluations made by officials.

Unsolved cases. The files consist of reports that accrue at a rate of 100 cases per year. The commission has received approximately 2100 solid reports and has researched and dismissed many for various reasons. But there are still 40 cases lacking an explanation. These files have been kept open, and range from sightings and landings of alleged craft to so-called abductions, that is to say, report on the kidnapping of persons by extraterrestrial entities.

The international definition conceived by U.S. astrophysicist Allen Hynek divides these situations into three categories: encounters of the first kind are those involving a sighting; those of the second kind are those that record a landing, and the third kind -- the sort most exploited by filmmakers -- make reference to an encounter with an unidentified flying object and its occupants.

The military commission's task is to compile a record of cases and draft guidelines or conclusions regarding their veracity and origin. They have obtained solid results: "The commission managed to determine modifications to the chemical composition of the soil where landings are reported. The phenomenon exists. It could be a phenomenon that occurs in the lower sectors of the atmosphere, the landing of aircraft from a foreign air force, up to the extraterrestrial hypothesis. It could a monitoring probe from outer space, much in the same way that we send probes to explore distant worlds," stated the officer. "The UFO phenomenon exists in the country. I must stress that the Air Force does not dismiss an extraterrestrial hypothesis based on our scientific analysis," said Sanchez.

The commission still keeps several paper files, above all those involving open cases. The FAU (Uruguayan Air Force) has now declassified all of its information, even those labeled "confidential". Only the identity of the witnesses remains undisclosed. All manner of situations can be found while perusing the file. In a case that occurred some time ago in the Department of Durazno, the witness reported the appearance of places where an aircraft appeared to have landed. Upon analyzing the soil's composition, an increase in the values of minerals such as chrome, manganese, phosphorus and carbon was detected, enabling researchers to conclude that the event had indeed been real.

Another singular case is found in these military annals: the appearance of two reddish spheres, flying silently over the heads of two teamsters driving cattle. The objects moved at high speed in opposite directions and the vanished toward the West at high speed.

Records indicate that the months prone to most manifestations of these objects are February, March, July and October. In February of this year (2009), the commission received numerous reports accompanied by digital photographs. Photographs or film are not a determining factor in any case, but rather a contribution, explains Sanchez, given the current technical possibilities for hoaxing images.

Unsolved cases have a considerable high strangeness quotient for the FAU. For example, the 1986 pursuit by two Pucara jet fighters over the Palmar Dam in response to the maneuvers of a luminous sphere. The pilots joined together and decided to chase it. When they were about to intercept it, the sphere flew off at a dizzying rate of speed toward Argentina and could not be reached. When the pilots returned to their base, the sphere reappeared over the dam. But the same thing occurred - the chase occurred and it vanished from sight, changing colors from red to yellow.

A similar case occurred to a group of military pilots in 1996, that is to say, qualified observers engaged in exercises over the Santa Bernardina base in Durazno. As in 1986, they saw two luminous spheres, whose presence was corroborated by the airport's control tower. When the objects flew away, they maintained their shape and luminosity, which enabled the spherical shape to be confirmed. Minutes later, the pilots noticed their glow diminished, and only their outline was illuminated. "The weren't satellites, as they do not fly in formation or that low, since these objects were at 10,000 feet (3,000 meters, approximately), nor do satellites diminish their glow," says Sanchez.

Among other reports we find the one by the crew of a commercial airline - a domestic carrier - that was pursued by a powerful light in 1979 as it returned from Paraguay. The light was even photographed by passengers. This case is also unexplained.

The Air Force also has visual reports of a dozen mutilated animals whose carcasses betrayed incisions made with surgical precision. These reports go back to 2002. No coherent explanation was ever found, but research by the military commission suggests the hypothesis that it was a possible biochemical attach that probably occurred in Argentina, where 700 mutilated animals were found. "It could have been the result of winds blowing from the West," said the officer. FAU does not dismiss the possibility of an extraterrestrial event. This is another unsolved case.

Military statistics show that the customary profile of people reporting sightings involve young men up to 45 years of age. They also indicate that cases occur in the early hours of the evening, and usually involve a single witness. 49% of statistics are made up of reports of luminous spheres; barely 2% include occupant sightings.

Nor has Uruguay been immune to close encounters of the third kind. The most chilling aspect of any UFO case is usually a report involving the abduction of humans for research purposes.

There have been several cases in Uruguay that remain unexplained. One of them occurred in Playa Pascual in 1980 and involved a camper, who was on the shore at night and was suddenly taken by surprise by short beings who immobilized him and conveyed him to a vehicle, where he was subjected to a medical examination. He later woke up in his tent and had a hard time moving. Another "missing time" case involved a family that was driving along the road when an aircraft flew over their vehicle and landed in front of them. They were unable to account for what had occurred to them for several minutes.

The World Ocean… What do we know about it? The most ancient forms of underwater life exist extreme depths, causing mysterious phenomena, for example, luminescence of the ocean: giant wheels rotating with great speed, luminous lines crossing the ocean from one skyline to the other, and huge fluorescent streaks rising from the depth.

These phenomena were observed from the ship Bintang in 1909 and described by I. Gitelson in his book “Living Light of the Ocean.” “Waves of light were moving from west to east. And now a case of light illumination observed a year earlier in the Ochotsk Sea from the ship Ochotsk: “Suddenly, an unusual green-white light broke out under the stern, which soon occupied most of the water’s surface. This luminous surface had an oval shape and moved for some time together with the ship, then gradually separated from it and flew ahead of it. It moved away fast and shone as a strip.”

In 1977, the Soviet newspaper Nedelya wrote about the same phenomena. The luminescence was observed by Vladimir Vorobyov from a Soviet research ship. “After having completed an ocean investigation, the team suddenly noticed a white light rotating clockwise at a distance of 150 or 200 m, which split into eight parts. In 1976, Bulgarian sailors Yulia and Doncho Popasov carried out a world tour on their 8-m ship. In late April, they saw large circles of light circles on the water surface, which were sliding past.
